i got clowned in jr high because i went to play laser tag with friends and then didn't want to stop playing this game in the lobby ... i do not regret it, i was right
I won't be there, otherwise I'd suggest we should once again do our con tradition of talking about how we should meet up and then not quite managing it.
sent you a message!
it's especially tough for a book with multiple artists, like otherwise it's just ask your collaborator and off you go
...last time I did a collection, one of the artists connected me with a friend who is an incredible and well-known cover artist, this time i'm around it's all on me and I'm SWEATING
lowkey one of the most consequential decisions for any comics crowdfunder is who will do the A cover and what goes on it, and that's the point i'm at with my next book
Itβs likely the artist behind that ECCC table paid at least
$450 for the table
$500-700 for lodging
$150 (+) for food/drink
$300+ for merch.
The financial risk is real! Be nice to the creators behind the table and even if you donβt got the $$ to spare, a kind word goes a long way.
Folks, @sebastiangirner.bsky.social was kind enough to send me a copy of Texas Kid, My Brother and what a unique book. I was ignorant of Igor Kordey's superb work and this is an inspiring display of craftsmanship, filled with imaginative layouts. A feast for the eyes.
We are in our final week of this campaign. Just $1,977 to go to reach our goal.

same! i'm pretty open minded with my frankenstein, and i'm not too precious about it, game for whatever people want to try
all i remember is it tasted like disappointment...this take on a discontinued soda from 30+ years ago may get people to come for me, but i guess i'm taking that risk
oh well done
people get weirdly polarized about all things frankenstein and frankenstein-adjacent
