Hello, friends.

We’ve just been alerted to the above email being circulated; it’s absolutely PHISHING SCAM

In the email, they announce hotel rooms for SPX are now available.

THIS. IS. FALSE. And not at all sent from us.

Graphic Novel Review: MRS ORWELL is believable graphic historical fiction of the highest order With their new graphic novel Mrs. Orwell, Andrea Chalupa and Brahm Revel deliver an entertaining story for our times.

i think march-april-may has lowkey become prestige graphic novel season (is that already a thing? am i just now noticing?) because for the past two or three years at least, it's been PACKED with great comics

this week I wrote about MRS ORWELL, a great book and must-read

I won't be there, otherwise I'd suggest we should once again do our con tradition of talking about how we should meet up and then not quite managing it.

it's especially tough for a book with multiple artists, like otherwise it's just ask your collaborator and off you go

...last time I did a collection, one of the artists connected me with a friend who is an incredible and well-known cover artist, this time i'm around it's all on me and I'm SWEATING

lowkey one of the most consequential decisions for any comics crowdfunder is who will do the A cover and what goes on it, and that's the point i'm at with my next book

It’s likely the artist behind that ECCC table paid at least

$450 for the table
$500-700 for lodging
$150 (+) for food/drink
$300+ for merch.

The financial risk is real! Be nice to the creators behind the table and even if you don’t got the $$ to spare, a kind word goes a long way.

Folks, @sebastiangirner.bsky.social was kind enough to send me a copy of Texas Kid, My Brother and what a unique book. I was ignorant of Igor Kordey's superb work and this is an inspiring display of craftsmanship, filled with imaginative layouts. A feast for the eyes.
