Tweet that says, "I’m sure this will make you sad too, but I’m also using Claude to second guess home contractors. The licensed electrician was lying to me (or just totally wrong) about the kind of wiring in my house and recommending an expensive and unnecessary job."
This is the sort of thing I'm talking about in just implicitly trusting AI and acting like it doesn't hallucinate.
If you had to hire an electrician in the first place, what makes you think you're qualified to judge Claude's output to determine if the electrician is wrong?
“Human cassowary”
You ain’t kidding.
This week has been one hell of a month
Albuquerque city council just mostly gutted a long-in-the-works planned zoning change that would have greatly expanded the amount of housing options permitted in most of the city, expanding options and lowering costs. Gotta prioritize brutality against those with nothing I guess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm just annoyed that I feel like all the knowledge and the technology we have means we could all be having a really nice time and scientists could be doing science and everyone could have enough food and shelter and everything they need but instead *gestures at everything*
I haven’t had a vegetable or a fresh fruit in like a week. 😬
I ate more cheese.
Six years ago
had I known
what was about to happen
I would have looked around
so I could appreciate
(all things considered)
how good I had it.
Six years from now
I just hope
that I do not find myself
looking back at today
and (all things considered)
thinking the same thing.
(joan jett voice)
i love sitting down
sitting on the couch and sitting, baby
If you have a (white) parent with dementia who you’re trying to get interested in something, there’s an Everly Brothers concert on Amazon Prime.
Ya snooze, ya lose!

Your risk of LongCOVID increases after each reinfection
Another thing - COVID damages your immune system
This is partly why many countries around the world have had the “worst flu season” in many years
Protect yourself, your family, friends, and community
If you know better, do better

Please protect us by wearing a mask (preferably KN95 or better) in public spaces
They come either in earloops which are great but straps are more protective
COVID still exists in 2026
It’s still 💀ing people & causing long term or permanent disability (LongCOVID)

Me wearing a black CAN99 mask and eye protection. My shirt is grey and it says “keep calm and stutter on”. I’m wearing a black hoodie.
Smiling with my eyes but feeling stressed as I’m waiting for my 🚙
According to wastewater data, COVID levels are high (source: wwater.ca/Ontario/Toro... )
If you know that immunocompromised ppl need extra protection from COVID, please don’t abandon us like the gov’t & society did in 2022

Stuff is too hard right now.
Front page of The Journal of AI Generated Papers
I think this journal is a great idea -- it makes it really convenient to completely avoid all these papers at the same time.

Great news! I was able to get a stick and roll my seam ripper out from under the washer.
Not great news: it rolled under the dryer.
Got to Friday afternoon on another week where I didn’t get a chance to make my doctors appointments till the offices were all closed.
is anyone embarrassed anymore or just me
Well, gas is expensive, and food is expensive, and we’re doing a war nobody wants, but at least there are no jobs
Running for Congress on a platform of sneaking into Polymarket HQ and unplugging all their stuff. Overflow crowds at a local Knights of Columbus hall roar with delight as I promise to pour Florida's Natural Grapefruit Juice (with pulp) into the USB-C port of every computer in the damn place.
Well, shit! I am rooting for you, and I hope everything goes as smoothly as possible. ❤️🩹
Rachel Sugar's byline is apt on a lot of her stories, but it seems *especially* perfect here.

It’s lightly sprinkling outside and there’s a turtle laying on a log in the pond with its legs stretched out and its head pointed up, enjoying the sprinkles. Just a tiny good thing happening in the world.
