I have never been more on the side of a protagonist for a game than what we have here. She's doing a better job than I would with these slavering abominations flying out of every corner. If my job tried to send me on-site to where my father died, the rest of the game would be "Jonsey hires an Employment Attorney" and my dad died peacefully in his sleep at a hospital. Leon Kennedy is one of the 10 best video game protagonists and Grace immediately leaves her mark on the series anyway. This is great.
Resident Evil Requiem. They put a person with severe social anxiety in a RE game. That Olympics joke about how they should have a regular person do the event first? They did it here. Need for Speed and the protagonist is blind. It's Zork IV and you have to play a guy who can't read. Incredible.
Hail and wind damaged our roof, so we have guys coming out for estimates. I guess I'm hoping for an older, experienced roofer committed to the profession. A pro's pro. The ultimate, honestly, would be one that has shingles and who's got shingles. So we'll see.
Sheet music for Nevermore by Queen. I don't have a printer, so I used a service to do it and, honestly, that was fine. It is fun to get things in the mail.
I've also been taking piano lessons for six weeks. I bought a copy of "Nevermore" by Queen and had a paper copy shipped. I feel I am gaining the skills to play it. It's 70 seconds and Freddie didn't have to go as hard as he did, but I've always loved it and it makes for a good goal.

Received my Cosmic Instruments VCO today! Now if my garbage electric co-op could get around to restoring power on a 60 degree day with a mild breeze, I'll be off to make a song with it. I also feel that Robot Face on the front should be running the electric utility. Some day! #SynthSky

This is a screenshot of Jonathan Nash's review (5%) of Out Run for the Amiga 500/600/1200. I've played Out Run on many systems and yes, looking at recordings of gameplay, it's a bad game with a bad framework and the music sucks. How do you screw up the music with Out Run? But the larger point is that the review is the best thing about the game. I am inspired by him to do my job with as much care and professionalism. This is day 1, review 1, hour 1 and lost in all this is the balls of giving a game a 5% score.
First review in AP I (re)found of his was Out Run. "In the beginning, animation was done with toys. Toys like the zoetrope[...]" JFC, that is how this project STARTS. And he was right! That's what Out Run for Amiga looks like. I'll link to a video of this slop:

Today I woke up extremely sad about the passing of J Nash of Amiga Power fame last year. And I think I am motivated to find everything that still exists that the man wrote and read it this week. Every Amiga Power review and article of his would be a good place to start, no?
I asked one what the opening chord to the (Sega) Streets of Rage theme was. Like, it's out there. That info exists. The moment where I hear the chord it tells me to play and it is almost, but not quite, entirely unlike Streets of Rage is 👨🍳💋. But, y'know, eff fresh water and low electricity prices.

I started Dark Heart last year and was blown away. At the time, I was trying to blog about one game a week, so I paused playing it. I do intend to return to it because it looks lovely, its depth was obvious and everything I've read about it says "play this one!"

Yes! Grabbed that when it was new. Love it! Since I first wrote, I remembered owning a floppy disk set called "Wizardry Gold" with the first three, maybe, together? I'm sure it js somewhere in the house.
Is Wizardry II through IV on gog or Steam or something and I am just not seeing it, or is eXoDOS the way to go for those? In the CRPG Book, for the entry for Dark Heart of Uukrul, the author states that Wizardry IV is pretty good from a dungeon crawling perspective, so I gotta try it.
