I have had a day to gather myself and breathe, so here is the update for those following along with my dental saga: The dentist took a look at my x-rays, and immediately decided the oral/facial surgeon needed to take over. This is for two reasons: When I had my first wisdom tooth removed, roughly two and a half years ago, that dentist butchered me. And left me with nerve damage and the root of the wisdom tooth still in my jaw. That root piece has now decided to migrate, and while it has moved away from the nerve, it has moved so much that they now have take it out and open me up all the way to see if the nerve needs to be repaired, because it's been nearly three years post procedure, and I still have numbness and other issues in the left half my face. Secondly, and the reason I went in there in the first place, is my upper, shouldn't be there at all "wisdom" tooth, has nowhere to go, there is no physical space in my mouth. We knew that. What we didn't know is what the x-ray showed us and that is it is coming in on TOP of the tooth in front of it, while also pushing everything over to the left. So, there's two types of directional pressure being placed on one tooth. That has to come out too. Except it's still deep in there, so it's less of an extraction and more of an excavation at this point.

Basically, what has to be done is proper surgery. So now, I have a consultation with an oral/facial surgeon, who promised me to bring an entire list of options (for pain management and anesthetics) with price ranges attached. The good news is my bone health overall is very good! My jaw itself is still healthy and strong, both on the top and bottom, so the procedure shouldn’t be too hard on it. The professionals I’m seeing have also been very kind, and are taking my needs into account for each step.

So now the plan is to go see the surgeon on the 12th for a consultation, then we will finally have a price point on how much all of this is going to cost me. I plan to keep working through this as much as pain and energy allows, so comms are yes, still very VERY much open, and the ko-fi is as well. I will likely get back to streaming as well, a bit sooner than planned. For one day a week, on Sunday’s, as chosen by my community. I have an appointment this Wednesday to get my options properly sorted. To those who contributed/commissioned me, thank you, it's been a huge relief.

Comms will remain open for the time being to cover any potential unexpected costs/recovery

So a little bit of serious time I’m in desperate need of dental work to remove extra teeth. Yes, extra teeth, my jaw is too small and currently, wisdom teeth that honestly were never expected to arrive have started to erupt, and now my mouth is in significant pain. Talking for now is manageable, eating a little less so. My current options are: 6k for full oral surgery, or 400 dollars to put a bandaid on the problem with a single extraction. A significant disparity, I know. I’m not happy about it. I don’t feel comfortable setting a goal for such a large amount, and I am trying to see if there are further options. In the interim, I am asking for help in the form of the following: 1.
