Chris nailed it with this part at the end. Games really are just gambling sims and toys to most people. Games as art is a nice concept, but the industry will always see games as a product. Horses threatened the money in a very prudish moment, and it had to suffer for it.

Segaโs epic Space Harrier coin-op is 40 years old! I remember being utterly transported by it whenever I encountered it in arcades. Hereโs a piece in pen and ink - scanned in and colored in Photoshop - I made during Covid. I tried to capture that otherworldly feeling it gave me (for 20p!).
