Yes. And blue spill is less destructive on skin tones. If I remember well for the old superman 78 when/if they were using blue screens they were using different color temperature on the FG element to help with separation. And then they would color correct after the matte extraction, pretty smart.

It is but it’s mostly about keying the face and hair and the cape is red. I hate green screens and what it does to skin tones. So I’d rather go for blue and do some rotoscope on the body. Also we have other characters that don’t have blue. We also often replace the body because of stunt rigs.

Yes they would. We’ve gone full dumb.

No green screen was used during the filming of superman !! That I can promise ;) blue screens … yes 😜 but also LEDs. And also white screens, and black screens ! And a lot of translights and painted backing. The full range … best tool for the best moment.
