Hilarious!
Remember guys, you canβt afford a gas rig, or a coal mine, or a nuclear power station, but you can afford to put some cheap solar panels on your roof.
Thatβs why the fossil fuel industry has spent billions trying to kill renewable energy.
The dealer needs to keep you addicted.
High speed electric rail creates an alternative to short haul flights and driving.
It works wonderfully in Europe, Japan, China.
If ever there was a nation that pioneered rail and then lost its way. Itβs us in Canada.
Letβs go!
Good news! Fast track for Pandora bike and roll lanes extension. (We need to celebrate when delightful #climateaction gets fast tracked, as backtracking is more common these days) cheknews.ca/pandora-bike... #yyj
For those who have forgotten the past 40 years:
Tax cuts for the rich
...donβt trickle down
Boosting military spending
...doesnβt bring peace
Slashing regulations
...doesnβt create jobs
Folks, weβve seen this all before.
Canadians.

Life is complex. Accepting that complexity is beyond us while not giving up is an act of humility and heroism and requires a mental tenacity that we see in science, academics, technology, social services and other endeavours that serve the public interest.
Your thoughts?
Businesses tend to only do things that involve profit, focusing where growth of activity becomes an increase in revenue while the opposite is often true for public services.
The people steeped in simplicity then point to a service and argue it should be privatized.
Governments uniquely have to balance many values and maintain a high level of service for everyone with accountability equity all within a framework where more activity doesnβt translate into more funding.
I hear some people complain about government waste, but very shortly on the conversation they shrink back from complexity and change topics. Where a function isnβt obvious it might appear wasteful. I donβt think this is unique to government.
Maybe When they work at their job, it is a small workplace with a handful of people and a couple levels of hierarchy, delivering a handful of services to one person at a time.
Their interactions with government agencies might be their only contact with truly complex systems.
It is my observation and theory that many people who are critical of government systems may lack familiarity with truly complex systems.
They might say things like:
The system is broken.
Just fix it.
Work faster.
Save money.
Eliminate workers.
Heat pump sales rose 11% in 2025 across 16 European countries, with 2.63 million units sold.
Twelve countries saw growth, largely where subsidy schemes were stabilised and electricity costs addressed.
Policy certainty and energy levies & taxation are proving decisive.
Iβve often thought if the government got a bad deal on the contract they brag about how much money theyβre spending if they got a really good deal on the contract they brag about how much theyβre getting done.
If Google is bragging about how much theyβre spendingβ¦
only six countries in the world measure distance in miles, United States, United Kingdom, Liberia, Myanmar, Belize, Bahamas
TIL only six countries in the world measure distance in miles rather than kilometres.
Fascinating summary of NASA studies on contrails.
Better measurement could forecast where persistent contrails are likely to develop and allow pilots to choose better routes that minimize formation. This could reduce ghg warming.
Seems like a carbon tax could align the very real cleanup costs with oil use while not requiring cuts to social services. (Use economics to reduce pollution and clean up the mess.
Northern Ireland avoids Β£219 million in gas costs in 2025 due to renewable electricity

Iβm surprised they called the operation Epstein Fury if distraction was one of the goals.
Imagine the maritime energy savings when the ships that move oil and gas are (mostly) no longer required
Over 40% of global shipping by volume exists to move fossil fuels from one place to another.
A huge share of the world's maritime infrastructure has been built around a system that is going to change dramatically as renewable energy and electrification displace fossil fuels.
It would appear the US doesnβt hold all the cards.
Average SUV (Approx. 10L/100km): $51.00
We went snow βοΈ shoeing.
300km round trip to drive there. Beautiful day.
The EV charging cost us $13.11 CAD. ($0.23/km) combining fast charging and home charging.
Exploring our beautiful province is cheaper in an EV (operating cost)
This is just gross.
c'mon - solar is cheaper.
stop "burning stuff" it really sucks.
Exactly. C'mon Canada, lets do this.
Inspiring poetry... Enjoy.

OOO! we like this.
Connecting the sources of clean energy and the people who use it... Makes good sense...
Give us options, flexibility...
Allows time-shifting ;-)
