I am really happy how the harmony turned out in this and gives it a very jazzy, modern, yet nostalgic feel - while still having an underlying sadness, foreshadowing the tragedy of IDO's story. Yet, the instrumentation ties it to the setting of old Japan. I think it is a good tune for a game's start.

But the Phrygian and the IN scale apparently both share the flat2, so they have more in common than one might think. IDO taught me a lot about traditional japanese pentatonic scales and while the main theme definately sounds phrygian, there is still a hint of the pentatonic scale in there I think.
to create this tragic sound, I took some of the melodic material and simply transposed it to the parallel Phrygian. I was surprised that this simple trick worked, was the orignal melodic material written in japanese pentatonic scales.

so I have a lot of respect for small streamers that try to keep their passion and do what they enjoy and still try to have some goals and ambitions. So don't get burned out on that, you are doing well with keeping up what you enjoy and not giving up!
totally. I saw so many small streamers from my speedrunning days that literally quit. And I totally get why. Because it is literally just grind the same thing until burn out or just do what everyone does and hope you get lucky. Twitch has, after all these years, no solution to that problem.
Twitch experience in a nutshell. They gaslighted us into thinking that they help us pursue our passion and dreams, while putting streamers in a fierce competition. And all they do as "support" is throwing ads into your content and make it worse to watch. So I doubt the problem is on your end.

3D World also has an amazing OST and is really underappreciated.
for me, just having good team mates makes a whole lot of difference. I think it is easy to scale down the scope when you have faith and trust in everyone's abilities and know you can make something good, even if it less. And that makes it less stressfull and more enjoyable.
