Excellent news
Lest we forget the greatest global challenge we all are facing...
Good news! Do you know how much they were aiming to secure at the auction? How do the prices compare to previous auctions? Great journalism. I love your work
Life saving/extending drug approved for bowel cancer patients thanks to biosimilar re-appraisal after £££ branded drug rejected.
I lobbied NICE for over 2 years & they listened! Bevacizumab is the START. More biosimilars/generics should now follow

Ian Beales' easy peels? Or Ian Bealers, wheeler dealer, easy peelers? I think those are the two main options
You dont sound hungover. It's really good. I recently recorded this pod with ex BBC foreign correspondent and film maker Martin Sixsmith and I was also quite hungover. Martin did exactly the same course as you btw. We talk Russia in case you want to reminisce. harknessfellows.org.uk/podcasts/luk...
Love this
The ‘super flu’ idea is spreading fast, but the actual flu is following normal trends so far if slightly earlier. Good analysis David anyway
Deja Flu is very good. Chapeau
We also talk about the book, Oscar nominated film and the lovely person who is Philomena (played by Judy Dench in the film, here with Steve Coogan playing Martin). Amazing story, film and impact in bringing light to the forced adoption scandal in Ireland
NEW Podcast Out - My chat with legendary BBC foreign correspondent & film maker, Martin Sixsmith. Found lots in common - living behind Iron Curtain, US @commonwealthfund.org fellowship, working in government, storytelling & making sense of a divided world

He's a lucky guy. 😊
Great meeting staff on the wards and in theatres today & talking sustainability. We’ve spoken to 450 staff across UCLH this month about improving hand hygiene and reducing glove use. Better for patients, better for the planet and saves money too.
I don't know what the ultimate carrot is, but I do know that it's not Chanteney. Metaphorically pointless(though technically they have a point of sorts)
Guy next to me on eurostar watching this. No sound & I was reading as well, but I was invested in strange family relationship. He is 2/3 goof, 1/3 armed robber. Missed last section as arrived in London, so assume tatum, dunst & kids all get new identities and move abroad or something?
Visited Hospital de Sant Pau. Breathtaking art nouveau hospital in Barcelona. Incredible and window into 1920s medicine and earliest net zero hospital, powered on geothermal from 400 wells each 100 deep. Wow
On a 285 km/hr train to Barcelona for a health conference where am speaking about innovation and also climate action. Wonderful experience, comfy, fast WIFI, good catering. So much nicer than flying! Just over £46 each way. So much cheaper than UK trains too!
Great to speak at #KFAnnual Conf on climate & our work @uclh. Serious stuff but there is hope, as we have the solutions. Good climate strategy does not run against finance, tech or quality, but harnesses them. The NHS can lead the world in this & build green economic growth @thekingsfund.bsky.social
This line up also works for the new Great British Celebrity Macramé tie down series I'm pitching to channel 5, but I would add in Peter Andre
CAR-T cell therapy is one of the biggest breakthrough cancer treatments in recent years. Proud that @uclh is trialing its use for multiple sclerosis for the first time. Extraordinary science and fascinating development for autoimmune conditions

Thanks Alf. I need to pull it all together. I’d love to say hello at some point soon
Exhausted but elated after incredible week rethinking clinic letters for the modern era. Brought GPs, @uclh staff, patients together for a huge push. The time, safety challenges, cost & impact on GP & hospital staff is vast. Got down to 9 key solutions, 1 worked up prototype & we’re done ✔️
Actually a really fascinating article. We need to the great British values of the middle ages. Thanks Andy
Not published yet, but would like to. Will update here when I do. Housing is an interesting one…
I'd love to talk to you about this and the whole set of problems for patients that has come out of our research. A fundamental issue is the letter has at least 4 audiences 1)patients/families 2)GP 3)core hospital note 4) to future self for next consult. It fails on most
Excited to start our clinic letter sprint today with patients, GPs, @uclh clinicians, techies and administrators. Letters have a massive role, safety critical, hugely expensive and time consuming. Major challenges outlined today, so looking forward to what we can do about it
This is partly why it felt revolutionary when record shops introduced listening stations, albeit only particular albums. Imagine being able to listen to it before you bought it? Or being able to return it if you didn't like it. No, usually the only option was really to get your mate to buy it first
The delicate parasol of the Pleated Inkcap. This fragile fungi lives for only 24 hours. Nature is amazing. Let's protect it
