maybe because my very first job was telemarketing so I have heard every version of being yelled at and told to die possible? or working fine dining with rich people who think server means servant? just cause i’m not rude to them doesn’t mean we weren’t in the back yucking it up at their expense

my tactic too! i’m not letting some stranger rattle me because they are having a bad day or just suck period. All I could do is try to figure out what they’re asking for and I refuse to be rude & let them win

LOL this was such a wtf moment, AND I wasn’t rude to this person. Because, as someone working a customer facing job I actually enjoyed the public. I offered to make her a LT no B, but she called the owner to complain. The owner agreed he wouldn’t know how to respond

when you see your words taken out of context in court documents… you will regret not adding a “hypothetically speaking” or something that doesn’t assume the reader knows you’re joking. and the question will be did you say this, yes or no. and they won’t let you explain context.

I used the idea you know when you’re lying to yourself. Then I asked myself why I felt the ways I did about myself, & I wouldn’t move on until I knew the answer was true. In the end I got to the realization that I was worried people would judge me. I realized I can’t control that & it the fear left

that’s a hard lesson to learn not everyone grew up that way

I love that scene in The Wire where he’s teaching his sister math and switches it from a concept to a reality. That’s how I help my kids learn things now… based on that scene
