Very interesting how this zero-sum approach that we’ve been facing here in the UK is now emerging in the US. Much of what @mayasen.bsky.social says here is relevant for the UK *without student number controls* - no fixed pie here either but that doesn’t stop folks from thinking that there is 🤷🏽♀️

Yes we follow it quite closely. What our students struggle with is the story arc and starting early with strategic behaviour whereby have done demand-supply curves and v mechanical econ at school. Our students also have Maths A levels coming in though it can (and has) be taught w/o that maths
