In like the decade of playing them, I've come across *a lot* that use either that exact loophole or just wing it and change a single letter in the character's name. It's difficult thinking of one that's as as forward with who they are as touhou.

It sounds like a fun quest to go on though.

There's definitely ones where it's like "oh, it's just a cosplay of that character!" but no, it's actually just them. It's like that one Godzilla "well, legally.." meme. You probably want an actual fitting example that doesn't use a loophole and uhhh nope. I can't think of any off the top of my head

Do it anyways and let them complain. You make stuff that you want to see/convey, and if they don't like it, they shouldn't be looking at it. Don't let them limit you like that.
