I'm wondering what tipped you off to the AI component? ... back in the day I would find inconsistencies in writing style within a term paper (a few para's of perfect text within mostly bad grammar), or para's lifted directly from a ref (and not ref'd). Glad I'm out of the biz now ...sigh, for sure.

I randomly met him at Vimy when visiting in the summer of 2017. He was leading another tour group and was nice enough to stop and chat (I had recognized him from his book photo). He shared with us his maps and gave a brief history of where we were standing on the battlefield. Great guy. What a loss.
