Yeah, I have so many clear and positive memories of the media I experienced as a kid. And media consumption is such an important part of how kids relate to their peers. Seems like the better angle is maybe to encourage parents to participate in their kids’ media consumption 🤔

Back in the day, the anime was being released at the same time as the manga (and sometimes slightly ahead of the manga), so fans would have had their experience of the manga enhanced by the expansion of the characters and storytelling in the anime (with only occasional conflict between the two).
Yep. This is why the whole premise behind Crystal (a more faithful adaptation of the manga) seemed a bit off to me. If anything, it exposed a lot of the weaknesses of the manga without Takeuchi’s visual artistry.
Merry Christmas, and just know that you don’t have to have an evidence-based argument that such-and-such movie is *actually* a Christmas movie to justify watching it today. If it’s a movie you like watching around Christmas, it’s a Christmas movie. Anything can be a Christmas tradition.
The background art in the Mr. Magoo Christmas Carol is truly exceptional.
Sometimes she doesn’t look darker, per se, in those shots she tends to at least have more of an olive tone than the peachy tone everyone else gets.
It can vary depending on the quality of stills, etc., but Pluto in the 90s anime does have a darker skin tone than the other senshi.
