It’s mad that I’ve been in Ireland such a short amount of time and know so few people but I already know someone who was maced by garda.

Bullets ‘did not seem to have any effect’ on George Nkencho, garda tells inquest Emergency workers describe arriving on scene to find man (27) in ‘critical condition’

A way for Ireland to respond to Good/Pretti is to start disarming garda now. No tasers no mace no tear gas.

Ireland already has a Michael Brown murder of its own, his name was George Nkencho, with garda claiming the same imagined supernatural abilities.

In bed with a killer migraine all day and saw that “11 Irish Billionaires” article and thought how nice it would be to just seize all their assets.

Daydreaming of yachts and private jets being grounded, bank accounts frozen.

Wouldn’t that be nice. Eleven people!

Same thing with grocery stores and self checkout (and now locking things up) and arming the cops with more weapons.

All of this happened already. We know how it turned out. What are we doing here?

Taxi industry turning into ‘wild west’ as tech firms seek to take over, TDs hear Big firms seek to ‘make out like bandits’ at expense of drivers and customers, representative groups say

It’s surreal being in Ireland, roughly 10 years behind America on a lot of things, but being unable to learn any lessons from that foresight.

Sorry, I was being an eedjit (no snakes in Ireland you see) I went back and it was clear as day.

I haven’t read so joyously in a long while, thank you! Absolute magic.

Okay PHEW

I’ve encountered so many printing / manufacturing errors in books since starting a book store that I’ve lost my ability to gauge authorial intent!

@wilsonmj.bsky.social silly question (in case I’ve missed an obvious metaphor) are pages 375-378 of Dayspring blank? Or do I have a copy with a printing error?

Last night we rented Casablanca of iTunes and the restoration was a disaster.

Grainless.

Actors looking like they have cheap social media filters on their faces.

Bizarre static moments that looked like AI hyper smooth paintings.

I hope it’s not the version that survives.

Sometimes when I give interviews about Little Deer and DCAF I say Dublin is actively hostile to local events and small businesses and this is another example of that.

Four months after it was promised, we finally have the government's transport investment plan between now and 2030. It's bad. Roads are in, public transport is out. A lot of public transport projects being put on the long-finger to make funding available for new roads.

But for the amount of mileage the entire family has gotten out of the owl shirt it came back around to being a great gift.

I’ve started saying “I like everything from so-and-so shop” and tell them the local shops we like. Then they either choose something from that shop or get a gift voucher.

It’s not foolproof, there was a notorious owl button downbshirt that my parents somehow found in my fav gay menswear shop.

What US Tech Did to Ireland — The Dial The country is alarmingly reliant on Meta, Google and Apple.

Ireland wooed US tech companies with favorable tax treatment and other incentives, and that decision has...fundamentally shifted the landscape

I just did this survey. They want to start incorporating AI, and they’re trying to “just ask questions” their way into it. I hate this.

I don't know if it's being sent at random, but I got an email survey from Patreon. And I never miss an opportunity to yell.

It's all about AI.

They very much want to use AI.
They very much want to use your art to train AI.
They could not broadcast more clearly how much they want a piece of that AI
