Wow @coorac.bsky.social I finally received Castle of the Veiled Queen and I have to say it might be the nicest looking module I've ever seen. Paper quality, format, art, presentation, etc are top-notch.
Hope you get well soon Luka, health always comes before the work.
Today on Between Two Cairns, @bradkerr.net, @betterlegends.bsky.social and I review Leviathan by Christian Eichhorn, and discuss the importance of Number Appearing.

Tomorrow's the big day. The Amethyst Alcove goes live on Kickstarter. Easily my most ambitious MΓΆrk Borg project. I'm legitimately excited to show off what I've put together.
Fun fact- if you breathe along with the cassette you'll either enter a deep meditative state or run out of oxygen & die.
New blogpost, daydreaming of Mythic Bastionland:
A knight can interact with the themes of a myth to draw closer to it.
PLUS 12 myth-specific relics.

I just tried this approach from @murkdice.bsky.social and it works really, really well
Starting with weaknesses helped to define goals and leverages when I was drawing a blank

If you ask someone how Into the Odd has streamlined their games, they will probably mention removing the "to hit" roll and just rolling damage.
I blasphemously ask the question: can we re-incorporate accuracy and missed attacks with Into the Odd without turning it into a major slog?

Today MurkMail looks at using prompts to help build encounter sequences/chains #osr

A black and white illustration of a group of blades in the dark scoundrels. Itβs dark and somewhat shady though they are cheerful and having a good time despite everything going on. Thereβs also a ghostly cat, a white rat and a beagle on this

So over the course of the last year I made these NPC and player character portraits for a Blades in the Dark home game.
Last winter the players reached out to me because their campaign was about to end and they wanted to surprise the GM (the one who commissioned me) with a group illustration

I, as Kerr, love "door" D&D, but appreciate some clue about contents, rather than each opening being a lottery. I've often added spoor to doors in pre-written adventures that have none.
That *Grottoes* example bugs me in its info hierarchy--*covering walls* should be in 1st rank, plus stalactites.
Today in MurkMail, I yell about doors murkdice.substack.com/p/you-need-t... #osr #ttrpg
