I would love to see fewer general calls to "stay angry" and "resist!!!" - which suggest a full time state of war that no one can sustain - and more specific calls to donate here, volunteer here, call this number. Things that can be done in between nurturing/entertaining/healing yourself and others.
I don’t take it for granted for one second and I look at living my life as fully as possible as a responsibility to honor my friends who weren’t as fortunate in their own timelines. Sending a lot of love your way.
Being a person with deadly, incurable cancer who is nonetheless still alive for an indefinite timeframe gives me an interesting metaphor that helps me deal with things like large-scale corruption in government or commerce.
Bear with me for a second while I try to explain.
As someone who has a 10 year distance from an ovarian cancer diagnosis, everything you wrote deeply resonates with me. IMHO, it’s the only mindset to get us through this crazy, painful & beautiful ride called life. I wish you well. ❤️
