Herd of it? I seen't it!
Map snapshot depicting the predicted relative anomalousness of surface temperatures from the ECMWF ensemble over the Western U.S. in about a week from now. A a huge region of bright orange and red colors (depicting extremely high warm temperature anomalies) is centered right in the middle of the map, and covers essentially the entire region.
Lots of buzz online about an upcoming major March heatwave for the American SW & California. And in this case, it does indeed appear increasingly likely than an extremely anomalous and even record-breaking heatwave may envelop much of the SW about a week from now.
This is not true—driver’s licenses aren’t acceptable under the SAVE Act without additional proof of citizenship. The fact that they keep doing this sleight of hand should make clear that the SAVE Act is not something that “every American gets”
It’s as if 400 people were simply euthanized by the passive voice. Doubleplusgood.
me paying $30 in gas to buy imported things that have been hit with tariffs bc joe rogan is learning about politics at age 58
It's real.
A comment from Sarah Connor: "Is this how we Get terminators? It is, isn't it? No Fate but what we make for ourselves.."
Tweet Claude Code wiped our production database with a Terraform command. It took down the DataTalksClub course platform and 2.5 years of submissions: homework, projects, and leaderboards. Automated snapshots were gone too. In the newsletter, I wrote the full timeline + what I changed so this doesn't happen again. If you use Terraform (or let agents touch infra), this is a good story for you to read.
Back in my day you needed a senior engineer for this sort of thing
"A third U.S. Navy aircraft carrier strike group is getting ready to cross the Atlantic and join the war against Iran.
The USS George H.W. Bush has completed her workups just off the coast of Cape Hatteras and is expected to deploy soon.
She's expected to head to the eastern Mediterranean..."
adventure games from the 80s were intentionally designed to be tricky, mean and occasionally counterintuitive so that you could get stuck for long periods of time. this was called “value for your dollar”
Well I feel better.
I like it. It's hard to capture in a picture the way leafless trees look to your eyes at night. I really like the way the lighting off of the branches makes them pop out here.
Feeling a solid 8.
Ballistic attacks down 90% from what? There were zero ballistic attacks from Iran this time last week.
The odds that *someone* has used the phrase vibe killing in the DoD has to be pretty high right
1.5 megawatts, fuckin hell man. that's like half of a factory draw

It’s weird how this doesn’t say “oops we accidentally pushed out/incentivized to leave/fired” a lot of engineers and it turns out engineering projects need those.
We could all have been computers.
make them real
I just left a classified briefing with the Trump Administration about the war in Iran.
I was worried before, but I’m more worried now.
77% of Democratic voters support abolishing ICE.
Any Democrat running for office who doesn’t call for abolishing ICE is wildly outside the mainstream.
Was trying to work in a good use of "Erection! Sustained." but I got nothin'.
It remains to be seen if the evidence will stand up in court.
There are some wonderful stories here and links to a lot of incredible music.

SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES No. 25A914 NICOLE MALLIOTAKIS, ET AL. v. MICHAEL WILLIAMS, ET AL. ON APPLICATION FOR STAY No. 25A915 PETER KOSINSKI, ET AL. v. MICHAEL WILLIAMS, ET AL. ON APPLICATION FOR STAY [March 2, 2026] The applications for stay presented to JUSTICE SOTOMAYOR and by her referred to the Court are granted. The January 21, 2026 order entered by the Supreme Court of the State of New York, New York County, Index No. 164002/2025, is stayed pending the disposition of the appeal in the New York state courts and disposition of a petition for a writ of certiorari in this Court, if such a writ is timely sought. Should certiorari be denied, this stay shall terminate automatically. In the event certiorari is granted, the stay shall terminate upon the issuance of the mandate of this Court.
JUSTICE SOTOMAYOR, with whom JUSTICE KAGAN and JUSTICE JACKSON join, dissenting from grant of stay. The Court's 101-word unexplained order can be summarized in just 7: "Rules for thee, but not for me." Time and again, this Court has said that federal courts have limited jurisdiction. Time and again, this Court has said that federal courts should not interfere with state-court litigation. Time and again, this Court has said that federal courts should not meddle with state election laws ahead of an elec-tion. Today, the Court says: except for this one, except for this one, and except for this one. Ignoring every limit on federal courts' authority, the Court takes the unprecedented step of staying a state trial court's decision in a re-districting dispute on matters of state law without giving the State's highest court a chance to act. Because that order violates basic principles of jurisdiction, federalism, and equity, I respectfully dissent.
BREAKING: SCOTUS blocks New York state court redistricting order, over the strong dissent of the Democratic appointees.
