A lot of so-called Scream fans didn't learn a damn thing from SCREAM 4.
Kirby supremacy.

You cannot call yourself a progressive/leftist journalist or an activist for marginalized voices while simultaneously publicly aligning yourself with a vocal, transphobic Trump supporter who worships Elon Musk.
AEW needs to hire a backstage reporter named Kayla, STAT!!!
BJ Colangelo taking a mirror selfie in a loud, multicolor rainbow button up with a black cupcake tulle dress over it.
Not enough people saw this fit so Iβm making it everyoneβs problem.
Maggie Gyllenhaal really looked at her husband and said, "I have a role for you in my new movie. You're going to represent all of the self-identifying well-meaning men who are actually do-nothing putzes who would be lost without women saving their ass" and I just think that's neat.
Hate seeing sexual violence depicted on screen and want nothing to do with it because it's super triggering? Correct.
Feel validating catharsis seeing it depicted on screen because it gives you an outlet to work through your feelings? Also Correct.
Somewhere in between? ALSO CORRECT!
Whenever a movie deals with themes of sexual violence, people start making broad generalizations about how survivors "should" or "do" respond to a film. How a survivor reacts to a film featuring SA is the correct response, and sometimes survivors have reactions that are diametrically opposed.
Last night was the @dorianawards.bsky.social for GALECA: The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics. I'm proud to be a voting member, especially when a film like SINNERS sets a new record and Ryan Coogler wins the Wilde Artist of the Year prize.

yes, nothing says "innovation reinvention" like a nepobaby trust fund brat with no meaningful experience being gifted a massive hollywood empire by his technofascist dad, who leveraged his corrupt influence over the country's pudding-headed autocrats to box out competitors (?)

It's women's history month. You are now contractually obligated to hire me and my sisters. I don't make the rules.
I fell asleep with the window open and now I sound like Elizabeth Holmes.
I love #Hoppers so much. Pixarβs funniest films in years, an instant classic, and so cute I could SCREAM. Utterly obsessed with its perfect balance of humor and emotionally validating optimism in the face of an increasingly cruel world. PLEASE SEE IT!

I spent my entire night in a leopard print bodycon dress for @ifycomedy.comβs Sopranos birthday party and I think Iβve unlocked a new level of Italian-American.
Picture of Marjane Satrapi alongside a quote from her. The quote reads: The world is not divided into countries. The world is not divided between East and West. You are American, I am Iranian, we don't know each other, but we talk together and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you. And our governments are very much the same... - Marjane Satrapi, Iranian-French graphic novelist
Thinking about this quote from Persepolis creator Marjane Satrapi again.
this is a deeply sick country.
It's 1am. I'm listening to PUP. I'm writing smut. Happy weekend to meeeeeeee.
fell for it again award
And this is not to talk shit on content creators, but a lot of the virality was because hashtag "film influencers" were like "OMG SOMEONE GREENLIGHT THIS MOVIE!!" and did ZERO vetting of who he is and platformed him without question.
While we're talking about Max Landis being trash today, know that he has been soft-launching his return for months. He went viral on TikTok pitching a movie because the mostly-young audience didn't know who he was. Those of us trying to course correct couldn't fight the almighty algorithm.
Paramount Skydance is anti-#MeToo. They're in with alleged sexual predators. There are so many talented writers and filmmakers out there who could make a meal of these franchises, and the studio is bouncing back to toxic sex pests like Max Landis and Brett Ratner?
A digital drawing of author Maia Kobabe, a white nonbinary person with short brown hair wearing a patterned blue shirt, who scowls while holding up a copy of eir book GENDER QUEER: A MEMOIR. Maia is saying: H.R. 7661 is a national book banning bill which seeks to remove any book that "involves gender dysphoria or transgenderism" from all public schools in the US. This would ban my books, and any other book with trans themes, from public schools. PLEASE call your House Reps and say: NO ON H.R. 7661!
