A small celebration this week is dedicating a tablespace where I don't have to put collage supplies away. Random paper, paint brushes, glue, tissue, and weird stuff stay scattered at all times. Sometimes I will get 1 second of collage joy—one cut and glue-down—but there are times I may get hours.

Three different evacuation maps displayed in public places meant for—well, not us! Their poor design is collectively illegible, inaccessible, and invisible. I'm writing a book with MIT Press that challenges how safety culture and the role of design exclude in moments that matter the most.

This is the power of justice, access and inclusion. We all benefit when we all support each other.
