I had the most wonderful time vending at West Sixth Brewing today! For once, I managed to get everything set up early enough to snag some quick photos of my wares! βοΈπ

"the whole world is wild at heart & weird on top."
I absolutely gobbled this delicious lil book up a few afternoons ago. I'm utterly enamoured with Lucy's writing & storytelling (and maybe also just a weeeee bit traumatized by it). It's just so damn good! π₯©πΈβ¨οΈ
It's officially out in the UK today & will be arriving in the US on Tuesday! β€οΈ

Happy book birthday to At Dark, I Become Loathsome! πβ¨οΈ
@ericlarocca.bsky.social is one of my favorite modern authors of horror. He always absolutely knocks it out of the park, but this might just be his best work yet imo. Ashley may be loathsome, but I sure loved to loathe him! π€
Two novels. One is based on the horror film Pearl and the other on X from A24 Studios.
Spine view of two novels. One is based on the horror film Pearl and the other on X from A24 Studios.
Had to snag these X & Pearl novelizations by @timwaggoner.bsky.social because just look at how gorgeous they areβ how could I possibly resist?
My brain knew that Stephen King would win the Goodreads Horror Award, but @chucktingle.bsky.social is the winner in my heart. π
My bestest friend turned 9 today! Everybody say, "Happy birthday, Felicia!" πΆπ
Out there, right now, is an indie bookstore and it is FULL OF BOOKS, and full of bibliomancers who know all the old book rites to ensure you get excellent books for you and your loved ones. Seek the indie bookstore! Give them coin in exchange for stories and ideas and art and romance and horror and
I can only hope that it will someday disappear from my memory πͺ
Assuming you live in Europe, the Ithaka Press edition is cheaper because they're the UK distributor for the book. Tor is the American publisher for it, so their version would need to be imported from overseas.
I tuned out approximately 5 minutes into the film. I'm now finishing up reading Victorian Psycho by Virginia Feito instead, which is far more enjoyable.
I have yet to see any evidence of a plot, so I guess I'm not missing anything. It's just cursed CGI cats dancing around who will inevitably torment me in my nightmares for years to come. π
i mean, the cat in the photo is literally slitting its own chest open for some undefinable reason
i was hoping for funny bad, but it's just genuinely awful. i do think edibles would likely improve the viewing experience though??
I'm generally a fan of body horror, but this film is taking it a step too far
a CGI cat literally splitting her chest open
Thanksgiving (2023) is apparently blocked for Netflix users with ad plans, so we decided to watch a different horror film instead
It's Cats (2019) & it's horrifying.
That price is absolutely insane. It's ~$40 on Amazon! Still pricy, but much better than $230 lol
thank you! me too! β€οΈβ¨οΈ
I'm completely self-taught, but I'd say it's more tedious than difficult. It's time-consuming, but super fulfilling imo. mailleartisans.org is an excellent resource & you can also find tutorials on YouTube for most basic weaves. I highly recommend Chainmail Joe's beginner kit for starting out!

A small, spherical chainmaille pouch rests on a vintage floral tray. The pouch is open and contains a standard set of red, plastic dice.
If Iβm not lost in a book, Iβm most likely at my desk weaving hundreds of tiny metal rings together.
I have an art market next week at a TTRPG bar, so in preparation, I've been making tons of these cute lil chainmaille pouches for dice/coins/miscellaneous tiny treasures. π²β€οΈβοΈ
This looks really cool! Thanks for the recommendation! π
There are seemingly technical difficulties happening atm. Most of my feeds aren't available either.
I personally wasn't a big fan of Tender is the Flesh, but I decided to give this one a shot because the plot sounded right up my alley. I'm super glad I did because it exceeded all of my expectations & I absolutely loved it. π€

If you cut the roof off of Baba Yagaβs hut it can still run around for several minutes, but this is only a reflex action of the houseβs nerves, not magic (as previously believed)
A fun way to make the universe decide for you:
1.) Write the names of the books on your TBR onto little slips of paper.
2.) Put slips into a cute lil jar/bowl/vessel of your choosing
3.) Mix 'em up!!!
4.) Draw a slip & whatever book is written on it is now your next read! ππ
That's one that's been on my TBR for absolute ages, but I unfortunately still haven't gotten to yet. I lack self-control and usually wind up buried under a mountain of ARCs that I have to prioritize. π
