Isn’t it contextual with part AI plans and part business? Paying more and deciding that you’ll hire fewer people is a very different signal from what Block employees received. I find it hard to believe they don’t expect to attrit many more based on outlook.

I find “code this for me” is very satisfying when faced with mechanical task that’s solved except for the typing, e.g. some ugly JSON that needs to be mapped to some class. As the scale of novel changes grows the satisfaction drops.

From a bad experience with a windshield cracking, I’d also suggest running the heater towards your feet rather than blasting the windshield. A measured temperature transition is always best. The windshield that cracked wasn’t the original.

When I went to the US on an H-1B, part of the application had an educational assessment comparing the US and UK systems. What you describe aligns with what they included for 3 vs 4 years of undergrad.

The term has broken out of programming to be (sometimes invalid) argument against local improvements in a system/product where feature contributions are (viewed as) more worthy elsewhere.

My favorite use-case for AI is writing logs One of my favorite AI dev products today is Full Line Code Completion in PyCharm (bundled with the IDE since late 2023). It’s extremely well-thought out, unintrusive, and makes me a more effective dev...

I really appreciate a well-thought out product and full-line code completion in PyCharm had to be one of my favorites, I use it for logging all the time

Recently had some supporting documents for a kids UK passport travel rack up some airlines back and forth between the Jamaica distribution centre and Heathrow over the course of a week.

Agentic Coding: The Future of Software Development with Agents
Agentic Coding: The Future of Software Development with Agents YouTube video by Armin Ronacher

I decided to record a talk on agentic programming and why I'm so damn addicted to this. I think there are a few useful things in it, but I'm sure in a month this will be outdated :) www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfOV...

I rarely post personal things. But I need to talk about my 4-year-old niece, Hope.

She has a rare disease. A drug called elamipretide has helped her survive.

But the FDA recently denied its approval.

Now, her health hangs in the balance.

Please share her story & urge the FDA to reconsider. 🧵

Congrats, Dipshit, You’re a Dad Now Listen up, soup for brains. Yesterday, you were just a man. But today, a doctor snipped the umbilical cord off an angry, gray alien with your name ...

"And if you thought you’d only have sons, you better suck it up, buttercup. You’re a Girl Dad now. So check your punk-ass ego at the door and play tea party with your damn daughters. You don’t like that your new name is Penelope Fluffybottom? Tough luck."

Bob Cesca? I only know of him because he did a bunch of weird Internet cartoon stuff around 2000. I looked him up more recently and he was doing radio.

This seems like the usual problem of mapping between how they represent a design that can be arbitrary in their editor and the output. This reminds of Drumbeat-esque output that came a few years before Dreamweaver. This should fixable to an extent, but real fixes often constrain their editor UI.

It’s likely critical for chain of custody as it contextually presents the messages. Someone can reply to “is that your phone?”

For the base, I install 1Password, Alfred, Rectangle, Sublime Text, uv (for Python) and Homebrew. From there I remap capslock to ctrl and tweak a few Dock prefs. At that point, it depends on whether it is a dev or photography machine. I do way less tweaking now than when I was younger.

On the surface it seems harder to sell a LinkedIn account. I’d look at related accounts to see if this is designed to game the reputation system by boosting a whole segment of accounts.
