Last week a Soldotna mother and her children were taken into custody by I.C.E. This appears to be the 1st time that children have been detained in Alaska. The House Judiciary Committee will be holding an investigative hearing, today from 1-3 pm. Tune in: www.ktoo.org/video/gavel/... #akleg

House Bill 93 aims to ensure that only people who spend enough time each year in Alaska to qualify for a Permanent Fund dividend can buy resident hunting and fishing licenses, which tend to cost less and offer higher bag limits than nonresident licenses.

In Juneau it is a real winter! The dump of 40β of snow since Christmas has everyone shoveling and grumbling.
This is the coldest Dec 1-26 period in Juneau, AK, in 70 years and the 2nd coldest overall. The party is almost over though. A significant warmup (with rain) is about to occur.
