‘Mexico embraces you’ shelter in Juárez stands ready, but few migrants arrive to fill it
Mexico's President Claudia Sheinbaum launched "Mexico embraces you' to receive immigrants deported from U.S. Numbers are low, but the 10-center program continues.
Earlier this month I had the chance to tour the shelter Mexico built in Ciudad Juárez to receive migrants deported by Trump as part of the 'Mexico embraces you' program. The shelter can serve 2,500 people per day, but as of last week they have received 2,800 migrants since Feb.
