@kareinatalvi
I am lifelong scholar who never outgrew childhood, loves historical recreation (SCA), acroyoga, regular yoga, dancing, and I always have a sewing or nålbindning project in progress. I love doing geochemistry/archaeology research.

I am with you on hesitant about learning complicated games, and with you on playing Settlers of Catan, but for truly over and over and over again, for me it is Qwrikle, which is even faster to learn, and I never get tired of it.
That was my thought, too! For drawing practice makes sense, but even if I were going to suddenly start trying to develop skills in drawing, I don't think it would have occurred to me to practice on celebrities.
which he? James II, Charles I, or this year's example?
And I was reminded, yet again, of how often I have heard Europeans say that US politics is so far to the right that the people who are considered left in the US would be considered just right of center in Europe.
and then saw a comment on the post saying that most of the statements read like the Democratic party platform, and wondering where the Cascade party differs from the Democrat party.
and thought "gee, yet another right-wing, oligarchical party"
I clicked through to their page, and saw quotes like this one in the first section "We understand, appreciate and promote wealth creation and success. We recognize the roles of markets and trade in our prosperity"

Which kinda underlies the point...
This tells me that your room is reasonably cold. Not having studied the physics of chocolate and that particular sugar candy composition, I can't say how cold, but somewhere out there, there is someone who could tell you the temperature below which your room must have been at that moment.
I know just how uncomfortable such a wait can be. I hope that all that can go well does.
I can't help you with that word, but hopefully your experience will get doctors prescribing emetgency packets of baked beans and other Coeliac-safe backup meals for travellers.
Exercise is important! Without movement, our ability to do other things suffers...
While you could have used a hexagonal graph paper for it, which would have made the circle part easier to to grid, then you would have complained about getting those diagonals right...
I just listened to an "Inspirational Lecture" from last winter that lives up to that title. swedigarch.se/index.php/20... Knowing that the speaker subsequently moved to Sweden as a research refugee from a country that no longer allows climate research makes it even more interesting.
What a cute house in the background!
I am one who never wanted to be a woman, and so, without the "and gender minorities" I wouldn't participate in the group. People who don't know and haven't asked tend to guess me as female every time, so I have no experiences of wanting to be in a group and excluded for anatomy, so I ask.
How does the phrase "women and gender minorities" feel for you? That is the phrase used in a group I am in that discusses our experiences doing armored combat as women and/or gender minority individuals. Does this version of the phrase trigger the same feelings as the "& non-binary" does?
Working from home is definitely better for the cat. Kali has already been brushed three times this morning (before 07:30), and that is a lot of fur cleaned out of the brush that won't become hairballs, and a number of small tangles untangled.
Long ago my notes said things like "created a spreadsheet to...", but then I couldn't find the spreadsheet again. Now such notes record the full location and file path, what it is for, why, and what those cryptic column names mean. Meta Data is your friend!
Rune boulder U 114 at Runby.
New inspiration, I want a rune boulder! A huge one! Not this one, my own.

I am delighted at the timing of today's Swedigarch workshop on Digital Environmental Archaeology for Early Career Researchers, as I will be both a student, learning more about the database I have just been hired to be a data steward for, and I am one of the workshop organizers.
Hugs!
Ok, this is a very good point, and clarifies nicely why I haven't really been comfortable with AI in education.
I have been at that age for most of my life. However, remove the glasses, and I can't hear, either...
I had my supervisor mail the box of rock powder that I had analysed with XRD for my Master's project to a college in Germany. for XRF analysis. He just asked "do you have a list of which samples come from where?". It felt good to be able to just give him the link to the right file in Zenodo!
After the paper was submitted several months elapsed before the publisher found reviewers with the time and necessary expertise to do the review. But now, at long last, it is published, and I am delighted, and relieved to have this finally out in the world.
When I resumed research again, I discovered that funding was closer to done than I had remembered, so I opted to ignore the paper and just finish the thesis. After the thesis was submitted I resumed work on the paper part time while working full time.
