My sourdough is starting to come along nicely, I've never had a dough jiggle like this before even with yeast π
This song by @backxwash.bsky.social has more listeners than my usual recommendations, but it's just too good (and appropriate for the theme) to not mention.

I've been loving it all afternoon π€
Happy #BandcampFriday! Came to get the @eveale.bsky.social album and ended upmwiyh the @hypaethralrecords.com discography as well. Made my week.
Once again, it's #BandcampFriday and I have some recommendations for you!
The theme this time: "Break what tries to break you!"
Songs and albums that are not afraid to speak truth to power and sound good while doing it!
Have a listen, enjoy and maybe pick a thing or two for yourself!
It was nice while it lasted...
First sighting of topless runner of the year...
An ice cream van in an urban park
Ice cream vans have returned to Bin Park. Spring is here.
βRestoring a culture of street playβ is βa daunting and perhaps impossible-sounding task. But itβs one that would meaningfully improve the well-being of children, of parents, of every person on the street.β - @theatlantic.com

Weβre never going to stop hearing about the Osbournes are we?
Amazing, especially photo 36.
A boiled egg devoid of shell but also brown, held between my thumb and forefinger
Iranian brown eggs as a bar snack at last!*
*Not really, but eggs pickled on barrel aged porter with sour cherries is a pretty Iranian taste profile
This is why I joined them as well π
Real privilege to speak at the launch of Trans Actual recent report.
Absolute solidarity with the trans community and everyone working so hard for a better future for trans and non binary people. ππ³οΈββ§οΈ

There are people out there who just paint Warhammer guys with no regard to the game itself. You're tribe is out there!
A pint of stout by a canal
Ah these things happen, only travelled 300km to go for a pint.
Got one somewhere else instead.
Well The Palm Tree is shut, despite the write up in The Guardian yesterday ποΈ
An ages dark brown cocker and split acorn in the plan of my hand
Those labels are only suggestions. Enjoy finding out what you left in your summer jacket pockets, I had an acorn and a conker in mine.
Myself, pale and old looking, in yellow beanie hat and black velvet jacket adorned with pin badges
First day of the year out in a light coat π
Exciting times on Anchor Island as we check #kakapo nests for hatching. Weβre letting eggs hatch in nests to reduce management intensity. Last night I found these two newly-hatched chicks in Koniniβs nest, along with a fertile egg I carried back under a lunar eclipse. #kakapo2026 #conservation
Get that sun! A bit grey here today, but I can live with that
Day beers!
It's day trip to London to try some of the traditional pubs. Booked this months ago, but there was a piece in The Guardian yesterday about old school boozers and the lead photo was The Palm Tree, our planned first stop. We'll look like hipster interlopers!
A train table with a mint coloured flask adorned with stickers, and a pop up pink rubber coffee cup
London bound and making the most of the travel cup that @bobby-dee.bsky.social gifted me.
Cheers Bob! β
This needs to be done because Sylvia Townsend Warner deserves all the remembering we can manage
I s'pose you are goin' a-whalin', so you'd better get used to that sort of thing.
The next video comes out Friday and is about the Battle of Seacroft Moor in 1643. One of the reasons why this video is important is bc I'm from Seacroft, and historians don't come from Seacroft. I'm probably the only historian to talk about this who is actually from Seacroft.
Amazing. I didn't see Rollins Band till about 2004 when they did a tour playing Black Flag songs, with Ramones songs for an encore... It was great.
Cool, yet so angry. Which is perhaps how one should be.
I'd forgotten the Henry Rollins lived in Burley story! Never knew the exact house either. I'll do a pilgrimage.
