Very little is actually known, even with the disclosures from the alleged texts. What’s fascinating is that if he’d come from a non-Christian religious tradition, the dominant narrative would likely focus on “cultural” influences.

Out of all the horrors I documented today (so many), this one is important
chart showing groups of opposition to Trump. Broad groups for lawsuits are Blue states, labour organisations, civil rights organisations, NGOs. Then there is a separate group for international rsponse and another one for non lawsuit response. A table of all actions is available here with any oppoistion highlighted: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1LZN7QnbSyFfUZJG8Sn1MWpK0VnfBtb0OSyZ1jxP3xBk/edit?usp=sharing (worksheet "Actions with links")
🧵Who is opposing the Trump administration?
I analysed 76 actions of the administration since inauguration and then searched for *meaningful* opposition to each.
I grouped the types of opposition and considered what we can learn from both them & actions where opposition has been lacking 1/24
My favorite from today’s 50501 March in Boston.
After 24 Senate Democrats joined all GOP to confirm climate denier Sean Duffy as Transportation Secretary, he illegally called for the shut down of the National Electric Vehicle Charging Program, established by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
Like it or not, this absolutely changes the security and threat prevention model for digital government. Every worst-case scenario conjured by civil society orgs and rights advocates - the things people say will never happen - is unfolding at pace. Relying on lawful benevolence is not enough.
Daniel Penny, who murdered Jordan Neely was hired by a16z as an investor. a16z invested in Clubhouse, which was popularized by Black people.
So this happened.
WTAF?!
Soon, everyone will be making this their profile photo on all social media.
The image is a scanned letter on official-looking letterhead from the U.S. Department of Justice, dated February 3, 2025. The letter is addressed to Elon Musk and discusses working with the DOGE team, ensuring the safety of American government employees, and protecting workers from threats. It mentions taking legal action against those who impede work or issue threats. The letter also references an indictment of an economist for economic espionage and warns about individuals acting against American interests. The letter is signed by Edward R. Martin, Jr., United States Attorney. There is a handwritten note adding "Elon," at the beginning of the salutation.
US Attorney for DC threatens prosecution against anyone unmasking "DOGE" employees in blatant violation of the First Amendment.
DOJ is now Musk's personal army he will use to target his critics with baseless criminal investigations.
Keen insights about what’s happening as well as the failure of the DNC gerontocracy to prepare for it.
This trick of his keeps working. He bluffs but nobody knows whether he’s bluffing. Then, he negotiates a “deal” that could have been achieved anyway while declaring victory. Tawdry political theater.
We are watching a coup performed by dimwits. We have many opportunities to stop them, we just have to take the gloves off like our new DNC chair has said he will be doing. And quickly.
When I was a Hill staffer in 2009, a Dem trifecta was trying to pass universal healthcare. In response, Senate GOP released a memo detailing all of the tactics they in the minority could use to delay the effort as much as possible. I'm recirculating that 2009 GOP memo here. Take inspiration from it.
María Bartiromo, a principal Trump apologist is now asking questions?
Turns out the Drizz is kind of a hero
Congressional inquiry on deck?
The complacency is killing me. People should be in the streets.
Feels like time for a “new solidarity” movement that does what @housedemocrats.bsky.social and @senatedemocrats.bsky.social and the DNC seem unwilling or incapable of doing.
The flip side of Trump purging prosecutors and FBI agents he thinks are disloyal to him is that there will only be prosecutors and FBI agents he thinks are loyal to him.
There is no middle ground between an arsonist and a firefighter. There will be retribution.
This will impact everyone down the line with increased fire issues and higher municipal and agricultural water costs. But given the location of this water, a lot of the people most immediately impacted are Trump voters.
Chipping away at that base, one dumb, selfish, awful stunt at a time.
I spoke to former Treasury and OMB officials, and they said Elon Musk accessing government payment systems could give him the power to selectively turn off payments. They described what this really means in very clarifying terms. See below:

I am Kelly. We are Kelly.
Definitely a turn for the worse. He gets the W even if he takes the L, because his ultimate goal was achieved.
Grift level: 11.
The Dems need to create a vision and reality so utterly compelling that people feel an urgency to join their cause. Yes, there is a place for the resistance, but it is in support of an alternative future.
I think we will look back at the post 9/11 national response, including unitary executive, as the moment we enabled this to happen. Along with the SCOTUS election decision of Bush v Gore.
Further efforts to remake the State into his tool.
Thank you, brother. 🙏🏽
I can’t even count the number of these texts I’ve sent to loved ones.
This is no way to live. 😔
