Murders in the Rue Morgue was a parody, I have found the post and the website about it!

And it's really rather good fun, some eyebleedingly bad prose, of course

tech CEO in 2026: My computer has anxiety.
venture capitalist in 2026: Here, have 200 billion more dollars.
child in 2006: My NeoPet is angry at me.
mom in 2006: No it isn't sweetie, go to bed.
mom to dad in 2006: We have an idiot boy. Our boy is a little idiot person. It's too late to fix him.
In the latest Video Game History Hour podcast, MIT Museum's Dr. Flori Pierri joins us to explore their unexpected journey into the world of video game preservation: https://gamehistory.org/episode-151-games-preservation-at-mit-museum/ (Pictured: Michael Dornbrook, Infocom.)
I believe it's for this sweatshirt specifically via Bikini Kill's Bandcamp
Great to know their CEO doesn't even understand how AI works. It's not anxious because it's conscious, dumbass. It's anxious because you've been scraping the social media of users living and posting through fucking unstable times.
but if you're in admin at an institution, try to see your staff as people who make knowledge as well as answer emails.
My kingdom for a bluesky client that allows me to search my feed (alternately a phone with more ram so that my apps don’t forget their state after 5 minutes in the background)
Whilst everyone is ranking 9 games I’m still stuck contemplating this utterly depressing 7 pen line up.
Such “discarded office pen draw” vibes.
Only the paper mate flare is eligible for consideration here - and only if it was black.
If you read the bill, it attaches liability to the chatbot answer ONLY IF the same answer would attach liability to the person making the same statement.
Complicated new issue but seems AI companies want Section 230 type immunity. I don’t think that’s where the public (and juries) are, at all.
In between those playthroughs the internet happened. I’d like to think I didn’t use any guides the second time around - but can’t remember.
I finally beat it a decade later. (It was in my head between that time but not on my computer - lost the save file so took me a while to start over).
I was going to do that 9 game grid thing but my number one game wasn’t listed: Conquests of Camelot from 1990 by Christie Marx. It had many hours of play — I think it took me a year or two to get past Glastonbury Tor? Maybe I got as far as the desert in that time.
adventure games from the 80s were intentionally designed to be tricky, mean and occasionally counterintuitive so that you could get stuck for long periods of time. this was called “value for your dollar”
NEW “We’re celebrating a tradition that is at its core about resisting occupation and maintaining community in the face of horrors. You can’t keep politics out of Irish music. No one should try, for two reasons. First, it’s ahistorical. Second, Minnesotans are ready for a big anti-fascist party.”
If it's a licensed profession, then the AI Chatbot should not be able to do it because there's no accountability.

One of my favorite things about the new Katamari game is its music, which genuinely has the best soundtrack in the series and evolves the sound of the series while reflecting the modern state of Japanese music
It's been on my mind for MONTHS and I finally got to talk about it

I show this in almost every single class I teach to demonstrate the simple values behind the dignity of all people and how at odds our culture's norms are to the idea. I have cried over how hard it is to believe myself when I repeat after Rev. Jackson, "even if I make a mistake, I am somebody." RIP.

Got mine at 45 - came back clean. Wish I could’ve gone at 40 as well.
Semi-relatedly: shingles is kicking my ass this past week. Not eligible for the vaccine yet - missed by a couple years. At this point every visit to the Dr is: what fun new life-saving thing will my insurerer let me get today?
Know anyone interested in writing video games? I'm chatting about it next Thursday, 6PM at MIT, so plan ahead #writing #gamedev

A man wearing a homemade casual shirt with images from the Flint Sit Down Strike as a pattern. The pocket is black with the words “Striking Flint” and the Hollandspiele logo embroidered in white, and the buttons are plastic gears.
A set of four cards depicting a map of factories and streets in the board game Striking Flint. Red, gray, yellow, and blue Meeples are placed on spaces on the cards, as are tokens representing police, money, and violent thugs opposing the striking Meeples.
Today’s the 89th anniversary of the end of the Flint Sit-Down Strike, which led to GM recognizing the @uaw.org for the first time.
I remembered to wear my shirt with images from the strike and plug my game about it, Striking Flint, on the actual date this year.

Relooted is not only a neat puzzle game with grand heists and a charming cast, but also a challenge to who owns and tells African history. Plus, it's one of the few games to capture Africa's diversity well, pulling artifacts from all across the continent. My review:

Ah, Bad Bunny left you with questions about power outages, storms, and our hatred of colonialism? Don’t worry, I got you. I’ll show you the aftermath of a storm, take you to the beach, show you what hides under the waves. I’ll show you our magia…
