And Dr. Who and the Daleks
And Dr. Who and the Daleks
I just like shapes I guess
There isn't any deeper meaning to this I'm just still riding the adrenaline high instead of sleeping
I've always been strangely fascinated by expendable commodities in tv shows and films. There'll never be another squeezing of a sponge exactly the same as this one, the water will never quite flow the same way again. But now we'll always have this as momento
I've been awake for 17 hours
Also isn't it crazy that this sponge has always existed, and we've always been able to hear it, but now we can actually see it? Crazy
What on earth did Katarina make of this perfectly shaped plastic squidgy thing
A screenshot of newly rediscovered Doctor Who episode "The Nightmare Begins". Katarina is holding a bowl of water in one hand, and wringing a sponge with the other.
I'm strangely mesmerised by this sponge
Tomoko and I ended up going on a bit of a Who binge today, watching the pre-existant Master Plan episodes, and then The Cave Monsters omnibus (which we were planning to watch tonight regardless). All that, combined with the recent good news about her book (it's coming soon!) has made me very happy
I don't feel like I've adequately expressed just how amazing today has been, I can't really articulate the jumping up and down and squeaking into text form
Dr Who - the time travel show that can deliver new episodes, from 61 years ago.
Camfield directing a Nation script. Nick Courtney. Hartnell looking right at us and saying 'Daleks!'.
Other fans get easter eggs, we get resurrections.
I'm struggling to explain to non-fans how 'they found two missing episodes' feels. I think it might genuinely be a whole human emotion only accessible to Dr Who fans, like we're deep sea fish who can smell magnets.
I give it a week before people get impatient and start sending the death threats again. Less than that, if they announce that the episodes release at midnight...
This really is my favourite day on Whosky ever.
God I would love Doctor Who to be more like Father Brown

Missing Doctor Who Recovered!
The Film is Fabulous! team are pleased to announce the recovery of two missing episodes of Doctor Who, from the serial entitled, βThe Daleksβ Master Planβ:
The Nightmare Begins (Broadcast: 13th Nov 1965)
Devilβs Planet (Broadcast: 27th Nov 1965)
Well I think that buggers any chance of me getting back to sleep tonight www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
I love Dr. Who so so much, and it makes me sad that the vast majority of "fans" are just so vocally insufferable, or at least that's how it feels to me, which is why I don't engage in fandom as much as I used to
Just know if you're a Dr. Who fan and I follow you I consider you one of the good 'uns
What a time to be alive
Hidden Truths will soon be revealed...
#LungbarrowByLoomlight
I might say stupid nonsense 90% of the time, but that's only so that it's really funny when I whip out specialized knowledge from the academic books and articles I read in my spare time
Bloody hell, giving extensive notes on movies like this when they're nearly finished is an inept way to work. If there's a type of movie where you really need to nail your script down before production starts, it's this. And if you make creative decisions you should stick by them.
I need every single male artist that follows me to read this. It's not very long. You need to bear witness to this shit. You have to see it with your own eyes because you never will in your everyday life.
I'm serious, read it all please
Frustrating to see βDid your art have a good moral and did you convey it clearly enough that your entire audience could understand?β (a methodology previously only applied to childrenβs after school specials) becoming the main approach of modern internet criticism.
Oof. I just read your post in the most uncharitable, pedantic way possible, and I gotta tell ya: it's not looking good for you.
I think once I get a new computer I can actually commit to making YouTube videos again, to be honest I'm amazed the laptop I've had for over a decade has managed to last this long
CASTELLAN: No! I know nothing I tell you. If you use the probe to ask questions I can't answer you'll burn out my mind. BORUSA Take him away CASTELLAN: No ... no! STRUGGLING WILDLY THE CASTELLAN IS DRAGGED OUT BY TWO BURLY GUARDS ALL THIS TIME THE [BAKER] DOCTOR HAS BEEN SITTING MOTIONLESS XXXIX STUDYING BORUSA THE CASTELLAN IS DRAGGED IRON THE ROOM, AND SUDDENLY THEIR IS AN OUTBREAK OF CONFUSED
Finally the first iteration of the Castellan's 'No. Not the mind probe' line. Good job it changed - 'No! I know nothing I tell you. If you use the probe to ask questions I can't answer you'll burn out my mind' isn't quite as quotable...
