Can't see how it will fare better, there isn't enough footfall to make it viable without the level of subsidy there isn't the money for.

Duncan the Boomer's comment and your reply is perfection.
@andrewhunterm.bsky.social re your latest great episode of No Such Thing as a Fish, let me introduce you to @kyracloudy.bsky.social who writes outstanding articles about plane crashes (admiralcloudberg.medium.com) and also a podcast (www.youtube.com/@ControlledP...). Happy reading
I have an Obsidian document with 32 links to test out (and that's ignoring the list of "skills") and two browsers with tabs waiting to be transferred.
Yep, and stressful trying to keep up!
What's the modern-day equivalent of DeviantArt when you're looking for things like fan art *cough* LOTR emoji sets *cough* ?
Sorry, the bit around the model. opencode, pi, codex, claude code... plus another 100+ options that ppl on X are going "game-changer!" about.
Looking forward to hearing, because I've got harness fatigue.
Just read John Harris in the Guardian on the collapse of the UK high street - and why Reform is feeding on the wreckage.
It reads like a crime story. So let’s analyse it like TV detectives do:
Means. Motive. Opportunity. 🧵
This is wonderful, thank you!
Next time, could you write about if/why governments have never forward planned for each birth cohort for how much to tax them to pay for their retirement and later life needs? Life expectancy is predicted, medical costs not so much? Economically is it good to make the next generation pay?

I want to read/watch it (I've long thought of DI as a code smell as it affects code design)
Yes I lived near a coffee roasting factory for 2 years. I can still conjure the smell now (burned coffee, never like a nice fresh brew) it was that intense
Solidarity from someone else feeling like crap 🤧
@stoyan.me it's been a fantastic Web Performance Calendar, thank you for curating it and Happy New Year!
This showed today on my Bsky feed and I'm grateful you chose a platform with RSS feeds, so as I try and stop scrolling I can keep up with what you write.
Email newsletters (with the exception of one I read every single week) disappear into the void of my inbox, never to be read
Yup, which is why everyone’s parents are now sat glued to Facebook with GB News on in the background.
Being retired must be quite dull, but believing you’re freedom fighters in some sort of ideological Cold War? Well, that’s exciting…
Remember the site Second Life? It was partly defeated because people could build online fantasy worlds separate from reality just by using social media. There, they could become cleverer or more popular than reality. They could even build phantom crises in which they were expert.
And so here we are
There's been polyfills for the old syntax, so I'm hopeful that we may be able to patch it for older browsers. Ref: github.com/Profesor08/m..., github.com/Sam-Apostel/..., github.com/bartram/grid...
Hi @jensimmons.bsky.social thank you and what a Christmas present Grid Lanes is! Finally I can do really responsive layouts, no more "push the sidebar below the content": codepen.io/pbowyer/pen/... (preview img wrong as the renderer doesn't support grid-lanes...)
Ripe for a flammability test. Pass the matches!
They used to "laugh and call him names." Now they're all dead
I don't know @danielroe.dev, what's the difference between a tuna, a piano, and a pot of glue?
Illbruck fm330 is closed cell and remains flexible, but it does not expand or stick well when I use it. Got there in the end, and used an ugly bead of silicone outside to keep the rain out. It'll do for a winter!
The terrible joint between double glazing and the wall
The glue on Tescon Vana is impressive, I've used it a few times mostly for repairs and not how it's meant to be used 😀
The problem here was a 20mm gap down the side of the window, sealed w 1/4" render if lucky. I added foam first but should have use liquid membrane or something bulky first
Thanks! I have some Orcon F here for when we eventually do suspended floor insulation w membranes, to stick the membrane to the wall. May have to do a thin cement coat (parge coat?) before the Orcon F to seal the blocks, especially the 1920s water damaged, flaking soft brickwork
It's weird to see a car go past and barely hear it. The task expanded my hatred of expanding foam as it didn't make an airtight seal against the blockwork, so I've had to apply a liquid membrane over the top. Still a few pin-leaks to chase down. Hate foam on all fronts, but no good alternative?
I've just done this with 3 sides of our badly installed UPVC lounge bay window and it's made a big difference to comfort. We had 56mph gusts this afternoon and only minor draughts inside. Plus it's so much quieter indoors now!
“If everyone who streamed All Hell on Spotify had done so using Tidal instead, we would have received an extra £31,847.38, which would double the amount we made from streaming of the album in this time period. Or if everyone used Apple Music it would have been £12,331 more.”
