Before and after.
Seeing the parts and the whole at once helps reveal how time and evolution shape the city. Here, a parking lot becomes a beloved public park while surrounding lots gradually develop over decades.
Almost like a chessboard where the pieces donβt move, they evolve.
Interesting missing middle infill going up on Sorauren. Looks like two floors of apartments over a one storey garage behind an existing 3 storey building, creating a little roof-top courtyard.
i spent all summer organizing for dedicated transit lanes against typical toronto nimbys who claimed that "emergency vehicles would get stuck in traffic and more people would die"
anyways, here's real life:
The decorative bunting is ready to go! (Available at Northern Contemporary gallery)
And another attack on passenger train in Mykolaiv today:

Having failed against military targets,, russia is targeting passenger trains across Ukraine.
Great new video by Romaro Williams that gives some much needed positive light on the Finch West LRT!
Yes, it could be better, but Williams highlights how transformative this project is for pedestrians, cyclists, transit users, and even drivers.
Go support this amazing new creator of colour! (1/3)
Only in Toronto will a street that looks like this have buses running every 3-4 mins.
Road salt applied to streets and parking lots is washing into Lake Simcoe and other watersheds throughout Ontario, putting biodiversity and drinking water at risk. @leahbortskuperman.bsky.social reports on the problem βΒ as well as one potential solution. thenarwhal.ca/lake-simcoe-...
If Toronto didnβt already have a science museum, Ontario Place would be a compelling place to start. But the city does have one on an a spectacular Don Valley site β that will soon be served by two subway lines. Which makes this new proposal a good place to stop. urbantoronto.ca/news/2026/02...
Not quite the same as bombing small craft in the Caribbean.

Interesting times.
Did you know that the City is conducting a survey about the future of street furniture in Toronto? The current contract expires in the summer of 2027 and a new vendor & furniture will be picked. Take the survey to have your voice heard. #TOpoli

Threads post from mayoroliviachow dated February 23, 2026 -- Hello Threads! Transit update: we're taking action to speed up Finch West LRT and save you time. As of today, enhanced signal priority has started to roll out on the Finch West LRT, with new intersections being installed every day. Rapid deployment of new signal priority technology is the result of my plan to speed up streetcars and LRTs across our city. The Eglinton Crosstown is up next, and coming soon!
Per Mayor Olivia Chow's Threads post earlier today, transit signal priority is starting to be rolled out on the Finch West LRT with implementation on the Eglinton Crosstown LRT to follow! ππ #TTC #TOpoli CC @ttcriders.bsky.social @toenviro.bsky.social www.threads.com/@mayorolivia...
Things Europeans won't understand: in a news article about... car-parking habits... the section about "but wait, you may be caught in a mass shooting! plan for a mass shooting!"

Oh god. βTelemarketing jobβ brought back memories. Worked at a place that was scamming people and quit the first day, only to see it on CityTV piece by Jojo Chinto after it got busted.
How many of those belong to people with laneway garages that are being used as studios?
In 2022 France implemented a new law stating that 50% of any new public building should be built from timber or other bio materials.
An outcome is new schools that look like this!

Have thoughts on how to improve your bus/streetcar stop? Do you find that TTC stops often lack benches or shelters?
The City is running a survey about transit shelters, benches, trash bins and more. Let them know what you think! β¬οΈ

We can learn from other (non-English-speaking) cities:
I know. Main has similar constraints - the apartments have a giant parking garage underneath them, youβd still need to tunnel across Danforth and expropriate a few storefronts before reaching the subway. Both of these are complicated. Not doing the accessibility upgrades at the GO is inexcusable.
Tens of thousands of people and jobs will not see much-needed transit at Liberty Village because the province and city are playing a game of chicken over who pays. Shameful.
Not to mention greatly improving the community rec centre sandwiched in between the two.
That said, what a great βmissedβ opportunity to create some kind of semi-public retail atrium that connects between the two stations. Youβd have a captive retail market and incredible amenities for transit users.
