Self care is something I've always struggled with, and something I'm really trying to work on. I hate that whenever I take a positive step in that direction I'm met with resistance and pushback from the person that I would hope supports me the most. But history has shown that isn't going to change.

This past weekend I got play with my 12 yr. old as players with family/friends(shoutout to @behemothdan.bsky.social) and then on Saturday I started DMing for my 12 yr. old and his friends. Really excited to be playing again but really stoked to DM and be doing it with one of my boys. Full Circle
For a while I was playing with my brother and some family off and on for a couple years but that ended after trying to make schedules work. I loved playing the game but missed getting together to play and chat and just have fun. I wish I'd had the chance to start playing as a teen.
When I was a teen I bought the Dungeons and Dragons handbook and DM guide and upon arriving home my parents immediately made me take them back to the bookstore to return them due to the "Satanic Panic". For more than 25 years I never played D&D in person, just playing PC game versions instead.
It’s in crappy times like these that McDonald’s really needs to step up and go back to the all day breakfasts.
