Ok, I'll accept it: Zigbee is way better than whatever WiFi connected crap you find out there, specially TUYA crap
* Doesn't need internet
* Has lots of features
* No spying
* No crappy apps
* It just works
I'm mad it took me YEARS to find this out
Lo and behold, it matches the tides.
Of course, I didn't found anything new, upon research this is called "Atmospheric tide".
What's interesting is that I reached the same conclusion as other people through experimentation, feels nice in a world where "antiscience" seems to be the latest fashion
So I've been playing around with the sensors at home and found a curious pattern in the pressure histogram, it seemed like it followed a pattern.
So today we had thus huge internet service disruption and:
* Many things in my smart home failed
* Couldn't watch my series at the usual time
* Couldn't do a bunch of things I usually do.
Yeah... I need to retake my offline life project, good reminder.
Pain is important, it reminds us why things were changed through blood and sacrifice.
"Those who forget history are doomed to repeat"
So I needed a guide for my angle grinder and I thought: "Hey, I bet I can create this contraption to guide the grinder along the rails and..."
But then I thought: "I bet some else has already thought about it", and sure enough it has

Oh man!, THAT IS SO MUCH AWESOMENESS!!!
That's an awesome idea!!!!!
After a huge hardware overhaul on the weekend, I'm back at getting sensors and gadgets to work with HA.
This thing is great!
So now I have to design and print an awful looking case just good enough to fit this thing on my network cabinet. (2/2)
Yes. I have already made sure it works
So, as it turns out, even if Home assistant runs on a Raspberry Pi 3, the truth is that it doesn't work very well.
I'm upgrading to a PC, or rather I say an old laptop motherboard I had lying round which might have just enough juice for what I need, the thing is that it doesn't have a case (1/2)
Day two of "de-clouding" one power strip: The bugger is giving a fight, but now it shows on the network.
Step two: Actually make it work as it is supposed to
Me thinks thou misses the point
She's free to dress as she pleases, but not at the expense of implying that dressing otherwise is "less modest" or "not modest at all".
For instance: What would you think if another lady told you that you're indecent or not modest for showing your face on your picture?
This is kinda the extreme end, again we are talking about how women dress for this particular sport.
I get that she might want to "show less skin" and that's fine, the problem here is the implication against her peers that not dress like her. "Modesty" is not the right word.
No, you said that, I'm saying that SHE, the one using the scarf on her head, is implying that _not using the scarf_ (and covering her legs and arms) is indecent dressing, which of course is not true at all
That doesn't mean she should consider other women that do want to expose skin as being "not modest", don't you think?.
The problem here is the word "modesty", it doesn't have anything to do with it, in reality is lack of freedom, be it be her own will or imposed by others.
Absolutely agree with you
First victim: A HTL-331 Power strip, direct brain surgery.
There use to be a more straight forward way to do this a couple years ago, then it got patched
You know the saying: "There is no cloud, just someone else's computer".
So I'm gonna de-cloudify my home, or at least try
Agree, is she implying that her peers are indecent?
Not a "choice" if you feel you're doing something dirty otherwise
Was the last one Ainz Ooal?
Projection
I mean, perspective is necesary: You wouldn't know what is "good" if you don't know about "bad"
They try very hard to push us towards the eye patches and wooden legs
Yes, I saw the news a few days ago, Windows was removing grub due to "security concerns".
Imagine Linux removing the whole Windows partition whenever a new unpatched security issue rises.
About a year ago I realized my dual boot PC (Linux and Windows) was completely wasting the Windows partition since I haven't used it for over a year.
Since then there's only Linux on my PC, I really have no use for Windows
You intentionally brought back a bunch of good memories, which is rather nice on new year's eve
