Yesterday, five-year-old Liam and his dad Adrian were released from Dilley detention center. I picked them up last night and escorted them back to Minnesota this morning.

About 10 years ago, I moved from South Minneapolis to Pine City, so I've seen the rural-urban divide up close, and it's truly like living in two different countries. What this article fails to mention is the deep commitment many people here have to Fox News and its messaging. When I go to the dentist, get my car repaired, stop into the convenience store, go to the liquor store: Fox on the television, blaring, all day every day. I've found my community of people who are willing to be informed from different perspectives (and there's a bar with no TVs, amazingly), but the majority simply parrot what they're fed on a relentless, unceasing loop. Many support ICE because that's what Fox tells them to do, they don't need to think critically or deeper about any of this because they are given their opinion in neatly packaged news segments.

I do not understand people who would prefer the unknown consequences of getting sick unvaccinated versus the known trajectory of side effects from vaccines.
