Both the kids are broken from all this. Man alive. I’m flipping between furious at what our country is (well, more than usual!) and absolutely heartbroken and devastated.
There has been no need for any of this to ever get this bad, to ever get to this.
I’ve got one change of clothes and the few devices I managed to rescue. There’s going to be little to salvage from the house and I still can’t believe that the past few years has been one hit after the another and every step forward has been stripped away from us so I have less than I started with.
I am, like, I’ve already lost Em, three cats and over the course of last year, nearly everything I owned from clothes to the towels and whatever else folks bought me, due to the sewage and floods. What the actual fuck. Yeah, might as well lose my kids too and the ability to clean myself and poo.
I don’t see a safe route through this because we have exhausted them all. If we go back there, my youngest gets taken away into care because they cannot have their needs met there. Every other professional thinks this would be the worst outcome for everything. Housing have been impossible to budge.
You know that messy drug house doing the rounds yesterday? That’s in a better state than our house is after 12 months of recurring floods, leaks and sewage.
Not going to pretend I am fine because obviously, nothing about this is. It’s properly inhumane and the system is, as we know, in ruins.
housing see it as the house is a minor tweak away from being okay, I cannot make myself intentionally homeless and retain any support whatsoever, the house is so fucked I will have nowhere to even go the loo. Even if we try selling it for whatever value is left, we need a safety net.
With having the meeting on Tuesday, this gives us functionally one day to try and gather a plan to avoid being made to live in a ruined house and have my kid taken away due to it being unsafe. I have mailed our MP, child services will try and help Monday but yeah, we are super fucked.
They sent a copy of the report they made their decision on and it flat out just intimates there’s some fairly mild plumbing issues but the house is fine - despite damp, mold, no hall ceiling, no hot water, no toilet, no shower, and all the rest of it. as a result, we have a home to live in there.
Right. So today went… bad.
Got a phone call from housing ‘inquiring‘ where things were up to, I told them things are slow due to my worker having been unwell, response times from folks being poor. They rang back a short while later to serve me notice on the temporary housing. Out by Wednesday.

Anyway. Good luck to them with their plan for a super expensive PC booting to an Xbox/Cloud service.
Folks are already like “a competitor to a Steam Machine! Huzzah!” so I can only assume people have already opened the paint for a sniff.

It’s true for a lot of games but not so many wear it on their sleeves quite so effectively, Oblivion is hanging together by sweat, mad skills and magic. Even the remaster.
