Reading about the origins of Kanji characters is quite fun. The 競 (competition/race) in 競輪 (keirin, as in the cycling event) has a couple of legs at the bottom, but the 立 radical comes from a chisel-like tool or torture implement, apparently. Vibes nicely with cycling's "suffer" mentality!

My work productivity has been awesome recently, all because my Strava feed on my usual browser, Edge, hasn't been working! Turns out it was the VueJS dev tools extension of all things causing it. Fixed now, back to 0.1x work mode 🚴

G has finally retired from the peloton. What an amazing career, TdF winner, Olympic gold medallist. Inevitable ups and downs along the way, I still remember him being blown off his bike in an early TdF appearance! Thanks for the memories sir, all the best for the next phase.
