What Jam Are You personality quiz when
MAN i wish i was at vancoufur right now
Ok ok here's the 9 games i ended up settling on! These are all games that were either really special to me or had an impact on the kind of work I want to make as an artist/game developer or I just really liked them a lot
I've played a lot of games and enjoyed a lot of games but I've seen people using the list as like. the games that "made" you. the games that impacted your tastes and how you see games. and i dont think ive had 9 different games do that!!
i wanna do that 9 games thing but i always have a genuinely hard time listing even a handful of games that were Super Impactful to me
Having pet frogs is free slapstick comedy
The thing about frogs is when they arent being lazy they act like the most bloodthirsty, vicious, violent predators on the face of the fucking earth, except they have no claws or teeth or horns and are instead tiny and squishy so they look ridiculous
The Brasswood is an autumnal forest filled with massive clockwork structures from a forgotten time, waiting to be reawoken!
I'd love to have a computer that didnt have a problem every 2 or 3 days but yknow such is life
Every other time I have to draw some new background asset for Stomp I curse myself for choosing to have a little bit of a top down perspective on the ground. Makes some things just an absolute pain in the ass to get looking right
I still feel like a genius for thinking of lao gan ma hashbrowns tbh
Does my art have "sauce" . Do people look at things I draw and go fuck yeah another Bee banger . It might just be a result of me being the person who makes it all and knowing the process behind it all but I can't help but feel like my work is missing something abstract and hard to define
this is gonna be the first one since i became a furry that im missing ๐
We just did that in BC actually
I'm going to turn into a rabid wild animal when they announce Splatoon 4 with the coolest features Salmon Run has ever had
I know scope creep is bad especially when you have a tiny budget but: what if its a really cool idea
And you get to have a vacation
Imagine it. A little special period thats three weeks long but only one week actually passes in the world and you only need to eat as much as you do in a week and dishes don't pile up and you only have to work 40 hours across the 3 weeks and you can just get all the shit done at a reasonable pace
There is always so many things going on all the time . I just need there to be a week that's like 3 weeks but it's only one week so I can be less busy and stressed all the damn time
Had a dream I was adding a fishing minigame to Stomp
And I mean... Making enemies and art and all that is definitely the more difficult and more time consuming part. But I like it way more than level design, and it FEELS way less overwhelming to be filling in an already complete world. All that stuff is the fun part! I could polish up rooms for hours!
I was kind of just always continuously expanding the game's world.
With Stomp though, the world is likely gonna be fully blocked out before the end of summer. The rest of development will be filling out the world, making art and bosses and NPCs and continuing to tweaking the world to improve it
I think I'm enjoying the kind of workflow that comes with a metroidvania than I did with Frogsong's workflow. With Frogsong, each chapter was kind of its own self contained little thing, so the process of making that game was mostly make chapter 1 -> make chapter 2 -> and so on
People who are following like 200 or more people on social media.. . How do you stay sane . How are you not on there 100% of the time naking sure you aren't missing a post
Jam of the day #8: Raspberry!
Aw thank you ! My secret is that I'm very cute
