@maddstermind
hello! i was never on twitter! how do you do this? Aspiring author, diagnosed with cool guy syndrome, lover of blood and gore. I also draw sometimes and I know how to read (I promise). VIOLENTLY ANTI GENERATIVE AI. GET LOST.

On his first day in office, Zohran Mamdani revived the Mayor's Office to Protect Tenants and intervened in a major slumlord bankruptcy case on tenants' behalf.
Mamdani and his team are showing the country what real economic justice looks like. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/tCkZ1jszYcQ
For all that the media has spent years freaking out about what social media does to our brains, I donβt understand why there appears to be little effort to grapple with the fact that these chatbots are, for some not insignificant portion of the population, literally psychosis machines
Exactly this.
For 2026 letβs remind ourselves what really matters: weird fiction
Photograph shot from above, aka a bird's eye view, of an urban street with tram tracks, and three figures: a delivery man (perhaps for bread?0 on a bicycle, and a male and female couple walking arm in arm. The long shadows suggest it is early in the morning
One of the most unforgettable images capturing the vibrant promise of the new year, by the great Bauhaus artist LΓ‘szlΓ³ Moholy-Nagy: 7 A.M. (New Year's Morning), c. 1930 www.metmuseum.org/art/collecti...
Outlook for the new year ...
A black and gold illustration of a girl with golden wings enveloped by a dark wolf/raven-like creature. She looks up toward the sky warmly as the creature bares his teeth, her hands rest tenderly in his claws. Ravens swarm about them with a singular white raven flying up above them and golden flames below them. The background is a semi-circle border of golden roses, with an inner border of moons and stars. A moon enveloping a sun is behind them. The border text reads," It's written in the stars. Everything must come to an end." The characters are my own, Cupiovera and Dove.

This βitβs impractical to avoid AIβ stance is frustrating to me because no it isnβt? At least for authors who have direct control over their work. Not a single GenAI tool touched my books at any part of the creation process. I know this for a fact because I know my software and what my editor uses.
Unpopular opinion: Using AI for book covers, illustration and promotion isn't stealing. It doesnβt copy one artistβit mixes patterns to make something new. Indie authors who must utilize it for financial ressons aren't theives, theyβre resourceful. Original visions still = original. Fun fact: The creativity? 100% theirs. The ethics? Totally fine if itβs not a direct copy. Let's not bash Indie authors. J.K Rowling was on welfare and depressed when she wrote HP. Let's be more compassionate.οΏΌ
Youβre right, that is unpopular. And selfish. And greedy.
And letβs so fucking for real - JKR was NEVER an indie author.
I used to manage wine programs for movie theaters and I am in the extremely unique position to say with professional certainty that the answer here is a crisp AlbariΓ±o.
"Remember, the AI is fed with the work of actual humans. Why do you think that is, exactly?
If you use it, it means youβre replacing people.
People who couldβve done the job better.
People who actually did the job, and now their work is pilfered and duped."
Hold on, gimme a sec. I wrote it. I'm the author. I know all about it... I just need like five minutes to calibrate my brain and process how to properly reply when someone asks about my writing.
I guarantee that if I just completely lost my soul & started cranking out AI books, my career would be over. if you put in the work to make something good and born from your own mind, the people who become your readers/fans WANT THAT. They donβt want generic robot slop. Using AI is authorial death.
My best recent anecdoteβwe were asked to give a more βstory tellingβ design presentation at work this holiday. The other team used chatgpt to write theirs, advised me to do the same.
My team took time to write something we were all happy with & nailed it. The other teamβs was a total crash and burn
always baffles me when I see βbut writers/creatives/etc. HAVE to use AI to remain competitive!β
besides AI writing being worse, thereβs no evidence it gives any real advantage over not using it. youβd still have to fix all its screw ups, which takes time you could use to do it right the first time.
The lack of critical thinking ability in this piece is astounding.
This post is the sign youβve been waiting for to get into painting miniatures in 2026. Donβt worry about your skill level, or learning the lore, or having to play the game after - I promise you, you will thoroughly love the journey of simply painting a mini. Itβs also so therapeutic. Do it :)

The only thing I miss about Twitter is not being able to repost the classics.
There is no AI used in Blue Prince. The game was built and crafted with full human instinct by Tonda Ros and his team at
@dogubomb.bsky.social.
It is the result of eight years of development, fuelled by imagination and creativity, and we are extremely proud of what Tonda has achieved.
Hello, not only do we not use AI we would rather cut off our own arms than do so. Demonschool is 100% human made.
Tumblr post that says βthe world isnβt kindβ OK???much more importantly are you? βthe world isnβt kindβ skill issue. I am βthe world isnβt kindβ not yet it isnβt. This is a threat.
Bring this energy with you int 2026 (yes this is a threat)
cinema_nasties 1d Al defenders are so embarrassing j.paulmonter 2h All you are saying is that you want to gatekeep creativity. That's not good. drachelbarr & 20h β’ β’β’ Neuroscientist here... creativity is a process. A process. A FUCKING PROCESS. Not an output. Nobody is gatekeeping the process - Al simply invites you to skip to the end, to the output. Which, as mentioned, is not creativity. Nobody cares if the output is aesthetically pleasing, because the process, the act itself, the limitation of a single human mind and the resulting creations that capture that one single inimitable human experience... is what makes a creation worth paying attention
Well put by @drrachelbarr.bsky.social

I guarantee you, Person Who Is Somehow Still A Harry Potter Fan In 2025, that there are so many books by trans authors that are better and not fueling hate.
Go read them instead.
