βA Black Afternoonβ
Charcoal & Varnish sketch.
'Over wide open stretches of undulating fields the wind blew furiously, icy cold cutting like a razor. Clustered here and there were oases of timeless pools within black wet forests that fractured the driving force, dissipating it for sweet relief.'
A similar shot that I have taken before but this time with a projection lens.
and i dont use a tripod. But the shots are just dreamy when it works.
Its a ΕZK POLKINAR 120/1.8, a projection lens, which on my crop sensor (canon 80d)is about 170-180mm which means its hard to get a good composition. Also the focus is quite soft (and manual) which makes getting a sharpish photo whilst the camera is shaking at that focal length can be challenging...
Super interesting, thanks so much. I'll go do some Attenborough research :)
Do you know if insects see flowers like this, as in your photos, in this spectrum of light? I was reading that other birds see crows as rainbow coloured, so I was wondering the same thing. (Big love for your work btw)
It's really awkward to use, but it's so worth it.
