It's different for each project I think.
I made one of my projects freemium: sign in to get daily quota of free use. Pay for subscription for unlimited use.
And another project users sign up for free 7 day trial and gets charged after that.
Depends on what you sell.
I must be using Copilot wrong then. Cursor provides answers with much more awareness of the project conventions than what I could get out of Copilot.
Copilot is good if you're just after code completion in my opinion
