Yesterday was eventful. Power failure at Hampden Park meant a load of shunting at Hastings, splitting and attaching, and running some 2Z special services. No wonder Iβve slept so well π I was exhausted by the end of it

Something new to Lovers Walk, lurking behind the shed doorπ
It means the driver has for one reason or another, not stopped when they should have.
Yeah all good π itβs been an eventful few days for meπ
**CAB activity like key on or key off. Fail to call is where a train hasnβt stopped at a station that it should have
Through the window. Thankfully, the passengers, the train (387 224) and myself were okay. I did inspect the train from the cess (with the signallers permission). Nothing will prepare you for seeing something you know youβre going to hit, with 3 secs notice in the dark. Iβm glad Iβm RD tomorrow π 2/2
I was expecting a difficult shift but this was something else. LC issue at Wallsend LC meant talking past a red at Pevensey Bay heading toward Hastings. Then congestion around Hastings. And to top it off, I hit a large branch at 75-80 mph between Polegate and Berwick. See part of it that came 1/2
Orange is for unusual or stations that have had a βfail to callβ. Blue is for can activity
Todayβs order of play. Very wet and windy today so itβll be an interesting day of driving. Take care if youβre out and about
387 227 safely tucked up in bed at 1 Lovers. Happy with how my shift went and my first solo drive into Lovers Walk. I will definitely be wearing an extra layer today π₯Ά
Not heard anything really. The first Iβll probably know is when I go to work a train and itβll be there on the platform π
Scrap that! The RM has just asked me to cover a different turn now. So itβs East Coastway and not the West Coastway. Start later and finish earlier. I wonβt argue with that ππ
π short in OBS cover?
Back tomorrow afternoon with some trips along the West Coastway. I wonβt be working 2Y56/2Y65 between Littlehampton and Chichester as I donβt sign the route west of Barnham. Mix of 377/387 traction and a cheeky west worthing sidings trip and ECS back towards the end π
Cheers Chris! This is a far cry from the original turn (which I wouldnβt have signed most of the content)π a slightly easier start compared to some of the turns
Back on the iron road today for my first full turn. Looks like I conductor turn I wouldβve done many times. All familiar territory
Just this return trip. Surprisingly there was nothing uncovered until after I went home π€·ββοΈ. That paperwork was a bit heavyπ
2C30/2C35 Brighton-Seaford-Brighton awaits
Good luck. May all the signals be green π’
The last day of my route assessment stuff. Lots of paperwork. But as of the end of today Iβll sign Brighton - Barnham (inc via Littlehampton), Brighton - Haywards Heath, Haywards Heath - Ore, Preston Park - Hove (Cliftonville Spur), Brighton - Seaford and lastly, Lovers Walk Depot π
Also noticed Iβve posted a photo of spurs stadium. Iβm sure I selected a trainπ
So howβs this all work then?π
