pi day is March 14 because Americans write that day 3.14, that's clear. But the rest of the world which uses Christian calendar writes that date as 14.3. However there's no way to have a standard pi date, so we stick with this, even if July 22, that is 22/7, could have been the Pi Approximation Day.
but the Ides of March are on March 15!
