Wow, nice! York Minster…I was there 48 years ago and recognized it right away. That’s how much of an impression it left on me.

Great work, and fantastic artists from Montreal! Worked with Mathieu Raynault and Yannick Dussault at the start of their careers. Top-tier talent!

Those first three are from the 1939 New York Wolds Fair, the “Your World of Tomorrow” exhibit inside the giant Perisphere. Also check out the City of Tomorrow in the GM Futurama pavilion. Even more mind-blowing miniatures.

Yes! I worked on several tv ads using this method back in the 80s. A bit time-consuming but very rewarding.
I hope I don’t have to wait until 2027 for the Blu ray of season 2.
I’m on the edge of “Manchester City Football Fans near the British Progressive Left community.” Must be all those UK artist I follow, but I’m not into football.
Other than that and clipping layers, it’s pretty easy to use and has a good interface.
Yeah, it’s in a sub-menu for the brushes under Dynamics, and you have to play with sliders to replicate the effect that’s basically a default setting Photoshop.
Yeah, that’s one feature missing but the one I truly have a problem with is there’s no true opacity pen pressure. There’s a work-around but it’s clunky and counter-intuitive.
The only thing missing was the strings.
Oh yes! That was great!
An applied statistics algorithm cannot “grow up feeling judged” any more than my printer feeling hurt when I swear at it.
Hand holding a plastic egg-shaped spaceship with two outboard engines, a work in progress.
Another scratch-build miniature in progress, this time a racing spaceship. Plastic eggs come in handy for all kinds of designs.
Beautiful! Has the feeling of the golden age of illustration.
Great little exercise for landscape painting:
Antique-style photo of my miniature steampunk submarine model, made to look like a real vintage image underwater.
My steampunk submarine, the Seabeam as an antique photo using Affinity Photo. I have a collection of antique blank 1920s photo paper that naturally aged and molded which makes converting new photos to old a fun process.
My Danish side says yes to beachfront properties, no more winter, and big movie studios. Pastries are of course mandatory.
I hope Bluesky stays as is. It’s my last hope for social platforms.
I have an embedded old Twitter logo on my Wordpress website which is part of the default template (I don’t have an account). I can’t find a way to remove it, so I’ll have to upload a new template, which will mess up my postings. This is my only social media account. Hope I can fix it.
Kitbash more spaceships and submarines. Also show more art here. I have 40 years worth of work, much of it pre-internet days.
Happy New Year everyone! I don’t post much, but I’m glad to be here and follow all you wonderful creators. Very inspiring!
The saddest part of all this to me is how ~40% of the tech market is invested in this garbage when so much true innovation could have happened. It’s like progress has been put on hold for the “promise” of a yes-bot, meanwhile we still have shitty inkjet printers and TikTok.

My favourite art/illustration books bought in 2025. What are yours?
Genius. Mad scientist. Absolutely brilliant work, and I want all of it.

Really interesting read.
Looks like I’ll be posting and viewing on my Mac from now on, in the browser. No update or support for the Bluesky iPad app. Works on my iPhone though. Can’t quote-repost in the iPad app.
Ok, I’ll see it it needs an update. I don’t get that option. Thanks!
I tried that, it just goes green, but doesn’t offer the option. Do I click and hold for the option?
In other words, where’s the quote repost? I only get repost.
