Yesterday me and a friend had a lovely day out on the Greater Manchester Rail Ranger. Quite good value for money, got to get in a lot of different types of trains including the amazing Mk4s!
Would definitely do this again, very fun day & I always love a trip to Manchester! 😁
Down in Cardiff for a few days and took a trip into the city centre yesterday - safe to say it was sprinter central! These old things are still holding on down here! 😁
Eastham Rake & Bromborough have had a bit of an upgrade!
Bromborough (and Spital) have had their ageing customer info boards replaced this week, and on Wednesday the new totem pole at Eastham Rake went up. Very nice and fresh! 😁

I think almost all of these rare catches are a result of me checking RTT and/or Traksy randomly and then going 'Oh that's not usually there.' 🤣
Saw an odd headcode on its way into Hooton: Shoes on and out the door to see what it is: The Northern Belle! Very nice way to end the day!
For me, it's the quick pause between the beeping between the doors closing and the step retracting. Oh, and when a door that hasn't been opened beeps for a fraction of a second when the doors are locked, a very small detail, but it always bugs me. 😭

I noticed that on Sunday. I personally liked the original lady who was the voice on Northern a few years ago, but her name escapes me. I wonder why they're getting rid of Peter, I swear he's still quite new, isn't he?
Had a little explore around the Saveaway Merseyside network once again to try and soak in some of this nice weather before it goes. Ticked off some new stations and had a nice few hours out and about. 😁
Had a nice short time at the Rainhill Model Rail Show (and a ride on a nice old bus). Very nice model rail displays! Also became the proud owner of an old seat hand-hold from a 507 from the @class507.org.uk stand they had there. 😁
If only every 5pm train home was like this. Wasn’t displayed on the CIS at Hamilton Square but showed up 2 minutes after the packed Chester train left, very odd! 😭😭
Experienced my first time using a Superfare yesterday. Original train was CAN but the silver lining is my 7 car became an 11 car. Had an hour or so before I had to head up to Wycombe so had a little explore on some trains and TOCs I’ve never been on before. Very fun day! 😁

As I got off my train into Crewe with full intent to immediately leave the station and go into town, I suddenly see a 37 pulling in. Walked over to Platform 12 to see it go. Very lucky catch, very good thrash! 😁

I finally got Train Sim World 5 last week after finally having enough of Train Sim Classic after 4 years of constant crashing.
Something I love about TSW5 is the livery creator, I had a go at putting the TFW livery on a 350 as the TFW livery is quite simple, I hope it doesn't look too cursed. 🫣
I miss them already! The nice thing about my first college term was there was still a small chance a PEP would swoop in but that’s all gone now, now all I’m left hoping for is some 8 cars on the Chester line. 😭

Last weekend myself and a friend continued our venture to visit every station on the saveaway network, we also bought a ticket for a short hop to Wigan from Garswood. We got lucky a few times: our first time on an ex-WMR Class 323 and pride-liveried 802213. Very fun day! 😁

Brand new sign at Eastham Rake ticket office (must have been put up some point yesterday evening), nothing used to be there before so it may take some getting used to, but I think it looks nice! 😁

First train of the year! Train itself is nothing special sadly, although this morning has consisted of starting at a ‘Delayed’ message for half an hour as the weather isn’t playing fair on Merseyrail today. 😭
