This is Ashlar Ridge in Jasper Park. This photo was taken alongside the cabins by the hot springs. The road to Miette Hot Springs this year was still down to one lane in a section because of a landslide.

Thank you, it was a lucky photo, the sun rose above the clouds on the horizon and I noticed the tree. It was very bright shooting into the direction of the sun but my exposure was right and the result was good.

Constable Chelsey Robinson Park west of Edmonton Alberta near the Genesee bridge over the North Saskatchewan river last fall. There was fog forecast . This year it has been very dry. The Canada geese were following the river in their journey.

This is Roche Ronde in Jasper Park. I climbed up the side of Hwy 16 by the old Fitzhugh Lime mine in the evening. The Aspen trees were too dense for a sweeping landscape shot across the river but I managed this on the way down.

Well thanks, I'll have to look it up and find out and get back to you. I should know more about it (excuses starting) but usually the whole river bank is covered in trees. The Edmonton/Devon Alberta area has oil and Natural gas and coal so it probably is from ancient lake deposits .
