The right-wing extremists, currently a majority of our Supreme Court, do not care about voting rights or democracy or Constitutional checks and balances.
Itβs amazing that weβve all just had to accept that our top military leaders in time of was will only take questions from wildly partisan media outlets. LindellTV, Daily Caller, Daily Wire get called on, but no legitimate general audience or defense press outlets.

Congratulations to the Law Firms with principles who refused to capitulate. Permanent dishonor to the Firms that knuckled under. Who would want to hire Paul Weiss and the other Firms that abandoned rule of law out of fear? How could you have confidence they would zealously defend your interests?
They are still terrorizing people in Minneapolis.
This exactly!
This lack of concern is sadly, stupidly naive. βYes, Trump said that βlaw enforcementβ should be deployed at the polls, and . . . [may] dispatch [ICE] to intimidate voters. But . . . [s]hould the feds try, courts would almost certainly issue immediate orders to prevent voter intimidation.β
A reminder: The Attorney General of the United States should be the people's lawyer, not the president's personal attorney. The Department of Justice should act to protect the public, not the occupant of the Oval Office and his political allies.
You should read this. It is the type of detail that experts in authoritarian regimes see as telling.
In this case, state agents are offered impunity from higher ups, and the legal system is rendered inoperative as a mode of accountability.

Kristi Noem, Stephen Miller, Greg Bovino.
They must all resign and be held accountable.
Minnesota needs impartial investigations, the departure of federal forces, and an end to the campaign of retribution against our state.
Something is deeply wrong if we, as a society, cannot agree that an administration that snatches up children, uses them as bait to hunt down others, is morally repulsive.

βTrump has used the unfettered presidential clemency power to reward allies and those who have paid his associates or donated to his political operation.β How do you spell corruption? D-O-N-A-L-D-J-T-R-U-M-P.

This is what integrity looks like. And slowly, all honorable people left at USDOJ are pushed out, replaced by toadies loyal to Trump and no one else. Very sad and very, very ominous.
ICE agents are Trump brown shirts, deliberately positioned to pick fights and normalize violence.
Some countries that have prosecuted or threatened to prosecute central bankers for the purpose of political intimidation or punishment for monetary policy decisions: Argentina, Russia, Turkey, Venezuela and Zimbabwe.
JAN 6
Yβall know what you saw.
On January 6, 2021, a mob summoned and encouraged by Donald J Trump stormed and vandalized the U.S. Capitol, beat police officers bloody, shouted death threats, threatened Congress, and sought to overturn an election they lost fair and square. We can never forget that!
An βarrest operationβ? Trump has clearly not picked the best and brightest. He and his flunkies have violated the Constitution and all norms of international law, not knowing/caring of the consequences. It wonβt end well for the U.S. nor, I suspect, for the Venezuelans. Sad!
Trump sympathizes with how stressful it would be for Putin to have to stop killing people for a while because of how inconvenient it would be for him to resume it. This whole thing is a farce. A charade. Putin is playing Trump like the useful idiot that he is.
Trumpβs toadies are corrupt and incompetent. The lower courts are doing what they can but SCOTUS is controlled by right-wing extremists who determine the result they want and then come up with the justification.
β[M]eting out of pardons for blatantly corrupt and self-serving ends is a classic authoritarian tactic that undermines the rule of law.β David Pozen, Columbia University law prof.
At the same time the Trump administration is firing FBI agents and DOJ prosecutors who investigated the J6 insurrection, they are pardoning those directly involved in trying to overturn the election and organizing January 6th, and prosecuting the President's perceived political enemies.
