I'm so happy this story found a home with TTL! I'm proud of how it turned out, especially that I somehow managed to thread that needle between humor and sadness, which is something I'm still working on mastering (my secondary proudness is wiggling knitting into a story mwahaha).
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: Learning from Stoppard By Mike Fitzgerald, June 13, 2016 Comparing two drafts of a script can be hugely instructive, revealing point-by-point how a writer went about improving the story. When I stumbled upon an earlier draft of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, I discovered a dazzling, glittering trove of lessons as nourishing as eternal life itself. Well, nearly so. Last Crusade was written by Jeffrey Boam, from a story by George Lucas and Menno Meyjes. So say the opening credits. Boam’s final draft, dated March 1, 1988 (ten weeks before production) differs drastically from the published script which reflects the released version of the film. Differences come as no shock, but with Last Crusade they aren’t just a few deleted scenes and some line changes. Whole sections of the Boam draft were reimagined, major set pieces were added, and the pacing and tone were markedly transformed. Whoever made these changes possessed a profound grasp of story craft. I guess at the very least I've proven to myself that I can in fact sew a shirt, so that's better than nothing! Hopefully the next one will go a bit smoother.
A pale green three quarter sleeve shirt lying on a carpet. The shirt is very very obviously handmade, between the wonky seams and the twisted collar (it's a design element now shut up).
Well. It's not gonna win any awards, but I've made my first shirt. It's not great. The seams are rough and the collar is all twisted, but it is technically wearable. In my defense, I did accidentally choose hard mode by picking a stretchy knit and deciding to use my Featherweight with a zigzagger.
It's looking great! I love how the colors are playing with the stitches!

A triangular shawl with a ruffled edge laid out on blocking squares. It's done in simple garter stitch, and it's primarily a muted green, but widely speckled with red, yellow, blue, and brown.
UGH, FINALLY done with this shawl. It shouldn't have taken this long, but I kept missing on the halfway point (note to self: weigh the yarn next time). I had to rip back to the middle so many times you'd think I was trying to stave off rude houseguests.
But it's done and I'm freeeee!
