In our pursuit of a more inclusive and action-oriented statement, we inquired about adding concrete action steps as well as representation for disabled people and disability rights, both of which were denied. We declined to sign, and in hindsight (and with the feedback of the fanbase in Madison and beyond) realized this was not only a missed opportunity to stand behind the members of our LGBTQIA+ community, but the absence of our signature was a misrepresentation of our values. This was a mistake, and one for which we are truly sorry. This has been a clear reminder to not let perfect get in the way of the good, especially during a period when so many people’s rights are at stake. It's important to cosign any effort that aims to preserve the rights, freedoms, and liberties of all people, even if the circumstances or language of the effort aren't perfect. The Flock fully appreciates the efforts of Proud Owls and the other signatories of this statement to make USL League One and soccer more inclusive for all people, which has been and will continue to be a core value and point of focus for The Flock. Not signing and representing crucial members of our fanbase was a mistake, we're sorry, and humbly ask forgiveness.

Rain has been an incredibly destructive force on our drum equipment over the past few seasons and we needed help.
