After the rain broke I did go out to the greenhouse and plant spinach, cilantro, snap peas, lettuces, and radish. I’m not starting summer starts yet and likely won’t try to do more cole crops than some kohlrabi and maybe broccolini. I do want some perennial kale though. Still planning seeds! 🌱
My clipper hand is out of practice after the winter. It will be sore tomorrow!
Already feeling a bit late to the season, I went out and pruned roses and weeded for a while in the cottage garden. It kept threatening to rain. Finally finished and went inside to get some seeds for the greenhouse, and the skies opened up. It rained so hard. Cats and dogs! We are taking a break. 🌱

These days I would immediately say that I didn’t vote for this and I’m horrified. But no matter my vote, America has a lot of shit to answer for in the world and I can’t distance myself
from that completely.
When I traveled in Europe as a younger woman, I didn’t actively tell people I wasn’t American. But I flew Air Canada and I had an Air Canada baggage sticker/tag prominently on my backpack. I just left it there and if someone drew a conclusion from that, I did not disabuse them.
