Actually, the Junior Fours Head is an independent new competition that has added itself to the calendar. the Fours Head Committee welcomes this development, but was not responsible for it being added to the racing calendar :-)

The Rose Revived pub at Newbridge is a landmark on skiff meanders. I've just read that it's so named because Oliver Cromwell popped the wilting flower he was wearing (seems a bit unlikely for a Puritan, no?) in his beer, and lo it perked up! Maybe.
